the one i think all 31,000 of us should sing (and the one which sounds the best IMO) is 'You are my Cardiff…..my only Cardiff'-----that'll drown that Klu Klux Klan crap out………thoughts ??

Sing our hearts out for the day and show them what proper support is all about. Easy to support a big team and sing crap songs. Men of Harlech, I'll be There etc

how about we change the words for them to jog on and you'll never work again - pretty apt for most of them

Fields of Anfield Rd (Athenry) is also tediously boring. They have butchered it as the Dubliner's version is tip top.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NLZRWNdGCUcScouser's nicked this song too as they nicked YNWA from from Carousel, a Rodgers and Hammerstein musical.

'You'll never walk alone' must be the worst, most cheesy, football song ever. Agree that they have butchered the Dubliners' song as well. Dreadful !

Do you know why they started singing "You'll never walk alone"? It's actually quite a good story...
They were trying to get a chant going for Bill Shankly but couldn't come up with anything respectful, so they asked him what was his favourite song, he said he didn't really have one, but his wife liked "You'll never walk alone", from the movie...

Interesting, scotsjack. Still a lousy song though! Never bought into all this scouser scallywag, character stuff. But had to laugh a year or two ago when I read that they were singing, in a game against Man Utd ' His name is Rio, and he's heading for the stands'.
But Man Utd, Liverpool, Man City.....who cares? We're better off supporting our own clubs
