its fair to say the money was definitely there, just didnt come off in the end. Lets hope he can use some of the funds in the loan window, to pick up maybe one more winger.

If the clubs didn't wan't to sell them then they could ask silly money, at the end of the day they need to replace the player when he's gone.

It's just like our situation with Whitts, we didn't want him to go but if someone offered £6m and we turned them down, that wouldn't have made us greedy.

30mins before end of deadline we pull 3million out the magic hat yet supposed to have had it for weeks PULL THE OTHER FECKING ONE if that was the case the deal/deals would have been done days/weeks ago 95% of last min deals always fall through what did he expect :ayatollah:

That's exactly how the January transfer window works. Bolton didn't make an offer till AFTER us, even closer to the window. Why didn't they do the deal days or weeks ago? It's not as if Sordell is a big secret is he.

Except icwales who have said we bid for sordell or bid 3m?

It was probably Sordell's agent stirring up trouble.

They didnt do the deals days or weeks ago because we never had the money or it was another made up story im guessing the supposed 3million is total garbage considering we couldnt afford to buy phillips/noone last week after getting bids rejected,Then suddenly we have 3million appear for a last min bid for someone everyone knows is a good striker .It just dont add up :ayatollah:

Most money was spent today so it's the same as other clubs.

although i'd have loved us to sign at least 1 player (preferrably a winger)... i personally am glad we didnt sign Sordell, especiallly for £3m because i dont think he's worth it and i really dont think he's what we need :ayatollah:

i could be totally wrong on that score, and who am i to question Malky's targets after the job he's done for us, but just personally i believe that missing out on Sordell in the end may not be the worst thing in the world :ayatollah:

just hope we can sign a winger on loan now, although it will be even more difficult than in this window because without the option of buying players, we have a lot less players to target

If we had £3m to spend (which i think is bollox) why did'nt we buy him last week, when Bolton were'nt interested.

Who says we couldn't afford Noone? It seems as though Brighton priced him out because they wanted to keep him. Do you think West Ham couldn't afford Whitts? of course they could, they just didn't want to pay what we wanted for him.

Why didn't Bolton buy Sordell last week? Why didn't Man City buy Robinho before deadline day?

in my opinion and this is not fact, though i am pretty sure. we turned our attention to sordell after brighton changed their mind on our noone offer.

Basically brighton pissed us about so we turned to sordell, as did bolton after palace rejected them

If we had tried to sign him weeks ago the price would have been 5-6 mill.u get a better deal on last day if a club needs to sell.

unless you make bid you will never no if anyone else interested say we offered 1.2m last week for noone if bha said no as it was big ammount we would have had option to pull out then! after all we did go to 1.2 in end so malkie must have thought he was worth it same, for bordell!

Thats the most naive post of the day.

Are you suggesting Bolton just went "hey Cardiff are close to signing
some feller called Sordell for three million, he must be good lets bid more!!"

Malky has obviously been tracking him for weeks, but as is the way these days
Sordells agent will be keeping other Clubs aware of the situation.

Malky put his bid in last minute in the hope that it could sneak through and
nobody dive in and gazump us. But obviously Bolton had been lurking in the
background too.

Sordell chose the Premiership. And I just bet Watford loved sticking it to
Malky Mackay!!
