Before anyone of you have a go....I'm not having a pop at the lack of signings but I am a little disappointed as I think Malky really needed at least another two players to bolster squad depth.
The club gave it a go to get players in but it wasn't to be.
I dont know what Alan Whiteley's background is but I'm wondering whether the lack of a football brain at the top is hindering our transfer attempts? Brighton no doubt played us around the park with regards to Noone. January is a tricky period to buy as prices can be inflated...but a number of other clubs seem to be able to get a bid in and wrap up transfers within days.

Doubt it, Gethin Jenkins has no contacts in football and we managed to sign a lot of players under him.
I just think the right players had the wrong prices.

As Head of Player Recruitment would he play the role that a Cheif Executive does in a negotiation?

This^^^^.
As another post said, so little money spent this window compared to 12 months ago. Glad we are not giving in to players demands and paying stupid transfer fees. Hopefully Malkys got a few cards up his sleeve in the loan market, otherwise we go with what we've got.

I dont know his exact job but once a player is identified etc i dont think a "football man" is needed in the negotiating but just a good business man.
Personally, i dont think our club should be held over a barrel by brighton, watford or anyone else. if we cant sign anyone for a reasonable price then f**k em we'll wait til summer and rape clubs for their out of contract players
