alternatively the club release false information to the press and moles therefore distracting the attention away from thre real targets as we saw with mackie.
everybody thought we were chasing mackie when in fact we were after sordell.
no harm done as far as i am concerned because the leaks did not stop malky pursuing his targets and he had admitted himself in a radio interview he was chasing noone.

never underestimate the work of agents here who supply false infornmation on a daily basis to the press during a transfer window.
the whole phillips episode was started by his agent to alert clubs to the possibility of him being available and starting a bidding war. they also do this to get their client a better deal with their existing club.
