So was trying to join a few times but email would never receive the activation link so have made up a new email just for this.....
Anyways I’m here now...here my thoughts on last few issues
About me, names Matthew been supporting city for nearly 20 years and season ticket holder for most of that time.
Me on Malky: Very impressed, takes risks, strong team spirit, passionate, committed, knows the score, 100% believe that with the tools he will deliver...best thing i heard him say was the fans will forgive mistakes but they wont forgive you not trying” and he and every has working with him are workers.
Dave Jones: pretty much the opposite of above. Over paid and out of date but did deliver the best flowing football I have seen at Cardiff. Also delivered best cock ups season after season.
Me on Malaysians: Think we begged them to join us and give us money when we were desperate. They were lured by the 50 50 bet...when we played blackpool that back fired. However, I like to think they have been bitten by the bug...I get the feeling TG loves it more than VT. Both of them seemed to really enjoy Palace.
On them backing Malky. Malky knew the score when he came here it was going to be a rebuilding process but unlike builder we are ahead of schedule. We spent millions on fees last year, I hear we were paying out well over million month in wages...I hear Dave Jones was on 750,000 per year and terry burtons was on 350,000 so just to get the slate clean will cost a lot.
I don’t blame the Malaysians for not doing the same thing this year. However, I partly agree with the census that one is a millionaire and one is a billionaire, yes DJ messed up last year but looking where we are in the league you can’t help but think 5 million (how much interest to they get free with all their billions) would have almost made promotion a certainty due to malky, the players he would have bought, his ethos and approach.
It is for that reason why I’m slightly disappointed with our January window. First of all I thought the Malaysians were not backing Malky, realistically. We were making cheap unrealistic bids for matt Philips and Noone. (possibly more). I think this was more to do with Malky spending power than testing the water.
Then having gone through the window, being quoted inflated figures, and messed around by noone, Mackie and whoever else. It is almost as if malky picked up the phone and pointed to other teams like Westham and said to malysians give me money and boom 3 million on Sordel??????
If that money was there to begin with then there is no excuse why we have missed out on signing a player ready to jump in (though im happy the youngster we got – another mason hopefully)
Finally on tonight, I’m happy with point away. We have taken 4 points from 6 against them. No conceding ground and gained on westham.
