GREAT POINT BUT IT WON'T MEAN A THING IF

Tue Jan 31, 2012 9:47 pm

We dont make signings asap we desperatley lack quality, a player who can beat a man, we have plenty of cover apart from wings and striker.

If we do sign a winger who can beat a man there'll be no problem making the top two.

Yes we've done well up to now but the squad needs freshening!!!

Tbh I find posts like this disrespectful to the team and sub we have used this season who have been excellent. Worked there ass off for fans to say, let's replace you now.

I'm happy as we are, if we can get one more player then fine.

Looks like we will have to wait for the loan window to open unless we clinch a very late deal

Pathetic our fans at times, final of the Carling Cup, third in the league 1 point of 2nd 4 points of 3rd and our fans cry because they didn't get a signing.

Our squad is bigger than last year, we have ONE loan player rather than like eight or whatever we had last year. We have a team building rather than a rag tag bunch of individuals.

The teams done very well and it's not being negative or disrespectful in any way it's stating a fact:

GK - Covered
Defence - Covered
CM - Covered
Wings - More needed
Striker - Another needed

If we are to challenge for promotion we need more that's all im saying, yes we've exceeded expectations etc but the team(near enough the same 11) is looking tired.

Yes we earned a point at st marys a great point not doubting that but we need more cover end of!!!

What are you on about pathetic? How is pathetic i'm stating a fact if we are to stay where we are then we need back up and extra quality. Its a fact mate not pathetic.

Would love some new signings. However, we are 1 point away from the top two, 28 games into the season with this squad that "lack quality".

It's pathetic and certainly not fact.

We had all this when the loan window closed a few months ago, how we would manage over Xmas...... We only lost 2 games since and one of those was a cup game.

Not to mention the fact a loan window opens up again very soon.

We are a hard working squad who work for each other, we have one player of real quality in Whittingham, we lack a winger who can beat a man.

The moaning is disrespectful and pathetic.

The team has done really well throughout the season and this clambering for a 'deadline day signing' is so sad. Malky said it could take to Jan 2013 to get the teamdeveloped and completed. Focus on the positives at the club (which there are loads) rather than the negative. Maybe we bring in Mackie whenever the loan window, maybe we dont. Point is we have a far greater team (key word) than at any point under Jones at the moment.

An extra player would be nice but I'm not going to have a tantrum and certainly wouldn't write off the squad we have especially after all the work they have out in this season.

We can loan if and when we need players.

Yeah, I agree with you that it would be great to see a couple more players who have that X-factor to produce a bit of magic to complement the rest of our team. However, as you mention the fact that we are a hard working squad who work for each other is our greatest asset. If you look at the teams that get promoted to the prem I reckon you would find that just as many have been teams like ours in comparison to teams that have tried to buy their way to promotion.

Im not writing off the squad and never would we have a very good starting 11 and some good players off the bench, if however conway plays like he has for the last 3 games then great no problem, if he doesn't then we need cover, Ralls is a good player but looked tired for a few games.

Miller plays the lone role very well and is an exceptional footballer who does so much work off the ball.

BUT WHAT I AM SAYING IS - It would have been nice if the club could have signed a winger like Noone who can beat a man for fun and a striker like Mackie who can offer something a little different alongside Miller or as a different formation.

I know the next point you will make is what about Ralls and Mason - Very good players but they will be here a lot longer than April and if we are to maintain I think the current squad needs adding too!

Conway didn't play for months and we lost one game in that time I think.

MM clearly wanted a wide player but couldn't get one.
We haven't played with wingers in any game this season and doing very well do I don't understand the panic.

Another good result tonight ! Providing we can win our home games then the away points will take us up . But there is a good few of us waiting for our wheels to come off our wagon. The concerns over the strength of our squad is out of the love for our club. Malky knows the squad needs strengthening and his frustration was for all to be seen yesterday.

I agree with the first 2 words - Great point, would I have liked another player or not yes, will I be happy if we can add a player or two on loan yes.
But, we are not likely to be rocking the boat with the squad, whilst West Ham now have how many strikers?
Potentially some pretty pissed off players there that could give Mr Morose a few problems, particularly on the back of a 5-1 thumping?

I'm glad it's all over, excellent point tonight, nearer the top of the table, now bring on Blackpool and lets's get behind Malky & the boys :ayatollah:
