SILENCE IS DEAFENING AND WORRYING

Tue Jan 31, 2012 11:01 am

We are so close to top two yet so far, clubs around us sign top players yet we sign potential (nothing wrong with that as long as they are supported with proven players) I understand we are looking for hard working players and we are linked with certain players such as Noone, Mackie etc.

I believe that it would be a disaster if we don't sign at least two more players i.e a striker and a winger. Our team are close to running on empty, there is only so much more that can be asked of them to carry out playing and winning. We have difficult games in Feb where if we are in the top three I am sure we will go up automatically as we have a winnable march!

I understand Jan is a month where you pay inflated prices but everyone knows that! You've got to pay it we should pay it. Stoke paid nearly a million for a loan a few years ago. Look at the players available and why havent we signed them:

Maynard
Mackie
Noone
Smith
Sharp
etc etc

I really hope i'm wrong but what business will be done today? We have a game tonight. I am gutted to say this and hope i'm wrong (really hope so) but I can't see us signing anyone. BY THE WAY I WRITE THIS HOPING TO BE PROVED WRONG!!!!

I Think you're over reacting? I don't see how you can say it will be a disaster if we don't sign anyone?

We have cover for all short term injuries should they happen! Cover in defence - Quinn, Blake, gerrard, Naylor. Cover in midfield Ralls, mason, blake, mcphail, Harris. Attack - gestede, earnie, mason. And I've probably still missed players. We've come this far in 5 months, don't see why we can't do it for another 3 under Malky.

The window is open til 11 tonight, Malky will be on the blower should the club need him. His instructions will be in place as well and not forgetting the upcoming loan window. I don't see the point in wasting money. I have faith in Malky and I still believe he will bring in 2 other of his targets in the next week or two.

Keep the faith bluebirds :D

Glad I'm not the only person thinking like this.

Some of the threads on here are depressing - and is there any need for 15 on the same line of subject ffs???

I will be disappointed if we don't buy anyone this transfer window but if that happens it won't be because of a lack of trying. We have chased at least two good players in Noone and Phillips but not been able to get the deals done, if the reason iswe are not prepared to offer more than £1.5m for Noone then I say well done MM because at the end of the day he is a player with less than 20 Championship starts behind him.

If there is going to be a disaster I would worry if I was a West Ham fan as they seem willing to buy everyone and in my opinion thats not always a good thing. All these player Big Sam is bringing into West Ham have to be intergrated into an alreadt big squad, how will their current players feel when they get dropped it may well cause problems.

We have a good squad and a togetherness which is second to none in my opinion and whilst I will be disappointed if we don't sign anyone it won't be a disaster. Our biggest asset this season is the unity and togetherness in the squad and whilst one or two additions would have been a good thing it's not the end of the world if it doesn't happen.

Remember a couple of years ago we reached the playoff final and we didn't sign a player after the August transfer window closed that season.
