A forum for all things Cardiff City
Mon Jan 30, 2012 11:55 pm
Ive been a City fan for over 10 years and after veiwing this forum for a while I felt that I had to post to show my anger at the club on the way they have treated away members. Yes, I have been a season ticket holder in the past but my work commitments (like other away members) dont make it worth while these days. However whenever I can I travel to the likes of Doncaster away during the week and so on.
However my anger is about the fact that the club have once again put money before loyalty as they are willing to give a cup ticket to new season ticket holders BEFORE present members!!!! There's only around 700 of us for god sake yet once again we are almost on par with general sale!!!!!
So, some ticket tout comes along and pays for exampler £350 for a season ticket, he then sells the £40 Cup final ticket for £350 and then sells his season ticket before next season for £250, nice little profit there to be made isn't there!!!!
Loyalty..? What does the club know about loyalty..? Just ask away members and Students and they will give you the real answer!!!!

What did you expect?
I could have told you what would have happened at the start of the season.
Sympathy of course but it was always going to be the case.

Welcome Angry Man

- Hope the rest of your posts are not going to be angry
Good point about the new season ticket holders who could sell their Wembley ticket and make a quick buck

The last 3 wembley appearances should have given you a clue?

Im not a season ticket holder or an away member, I dont think its unfair the way the club has done the ticketing policy. They are looking after tho's who look after them. Dim problem!

Exactly mate, can't be arsed to explain, sick of people moaning! i'll be there at the first home game after the final supporting my team is what counts not a day out.
Tue Jan 31, 2012 2:19 am
I got an ST and will be at the final but agree with angry man, members should all get a ticket each. Like he said theres only 700 of them.

What about database fans that only go to home games? How is it fair you get a ticket when u might attend 6 away games a season when somebody who does all home games doesn't? Stroll on!

Sorry not aimed at you mate.

I'm an away member and think we will be ok!
10000 people won't renew or have £350 spare and then may not even sell a ticket for wembley for that anyway
I see your point but I think all members will be ok and will get the one ticket we deserve
I've done two home , and 3 away so far this season but that's due to work commitments etc!!!
Should a ticket fall in my lap? No! But they should set aside 700 tickets for us if that's how many of us there are!!!
To be fair
Tue Jan 31, 2012 8:59 am
2b, is this how I used to sound like?!!?

But why do members 'deserve' a ticket? All they've done is pay £20 to become a member, they could have attended no games at all yet would still be garunteed a Wembley ticket. Season ticket holders pay £100s upfront and will be doing so again tomorrow so it's only fair they get priority.
I think there will be enough tickets left for members anyway but to say they deserve a Wembley ticket isn't exactly right.
Tue Jan 31, 2012 9:18 am
I'm so fucked off with all these people slagging season ticket holders off its a f*cking joke.....ill be re-newing tomorrow as i always have done and if i get a 2nd ticket i was going to buy it and sell it at fave value to a fan on the forum. The way some people are carrying on im thinking "f**k you, ill sell it to the highest bidder" if im gonna get shit, may aswell make some f*cking money from it
Tue Jan 31, 2012 9:20 am
Some people work on wends so its not worth buying a season ticket thats why they buy away travel membership to go when they can they pay they money like everyone else so YES they should get a ticket

Might be but not from those that are season ticket holders.

They "deserve" a ticket because many of them are long-standing fans of the club who watch them whenever they can. They often live away or work weekends and for that reason aren't season ticket holders.
I've a mate in Nottingham who is from the Rhondda who is an away member who watches a lot of the away games up north and watches home games when he comes to visit his family and me. He's supported City all his life. I'll probably renew my season ticket this week so will be able to get an extra ticket that he can have but it wouldn't be fair for someone like him to miss out.
Having said that, I think there'll be enough tickets going for the away members to have one each.
Tue Jan 31, 2012 9:41 am
I've said for years that there should be an away members season ticket type deal which gives them higher priorty (not above or on par with season ticket holders before anyone jumps down my throat

)
It would mean you pay say £120 at the start of the season where you are then able to get 5 away tickets at any point during the season and is only available for people who live say 70 miles away from the stadium, but it shows your "loyality" at the start of the season etc.
I know there's a lot of issues that would have to be resolved, but it would mean more of a priorty for this such situation. If it makes you feel any better angry man, I was an exile living in Glasgow for the two fa cup matches and the playoff final and I got a ticket easily

I do have sympathy for those who can't get a season ticket but unfortunately the season ticket holders are always going to be given priority because of the money they put in.
I'd feel a bit more sorry for you mate in Nottingham if I didn't live near there and travel down for all the games
Tue Jan 31, 2012 11:23 am
I don't think anyone has a problem with season ticket holers getting a ticket. I think they have a problem with them getting the option of a second ticket that can go to one game a year Joe Bloggs ahead of them who have purchased a membership(price is irrelevant) to entitle them to go to away game as and when they can and then they find out they could miss out on one of the biggest away games(neutral/away/pedantic) of the season.

i am hopeing to obtain two extra cup final tickets
if i am lucky enough to obtain these they will be going to two away members.
i am a season ticket holder in the family stand with my grandson.
i am appauled at the commets on this forum about the children season ticket holders in the family stand, most of us a true fanswho would not dream of selling tickets for a profit.
i truely hope you get a ticket for the final good luck.

What people need to understand is that Away Members don't actually directly put any money into the club. If they only buy away tickets then that's money into the coffers of all the other 20 odd clubs in the league.
The club have got it spot on in my opinion.
