Heaton V De Gea

Sorry if already posted......

it stuck me that after the semi-final Heaton is showing why he was originally signed to Manure, and De Gea, although a bit younger, is seeming to struggle with the task of Number one at old tragic.....

Does anyone think that fergy is gutted that he overlooked Heaton Now?

I somehow dont think hes too gutted. After all he had Edwin Van Der Sar and still has Anders Lindergaard. Besides, De Gea is 19 and is regarded as one of the best up and coming talents for goalkeepers. Keepers dont hit their prime till they are at least 28. Heaton is a good keeper, but not one that could walk into the Man Utd first team.

fair point, maybe gutted is the wrong term.... But with heatons recent cup run, I'm convinced he will be challenging for No1 shirt, like you say, he is 25 now, in 3 years he could be phenominal.

Unbelievable that united bought a keeper for so much money that isn't actually a finished article!!

Typical British football. They expect a foreign player (a keeper in this case) to come over and perform miracles, and fit in right away, but that doesn't always happen. Admittedly he cost about £20m but he's only been here half a season. Granted he doesn't look the best at the moment, but I'm sure he'll improve with time.
