ccfc needs you!

a quick question!

what is deemed as a cardiff city fan?

1 - the grandfather who despite not ever attending a game, for many of years has switched his radio on religiously every week at half hour before a city game starts and listened to every word of the commentary!
2. a fan who does not have the opportunities financially or restrictively to go to games but still on a daily basis looks for the slightest snippet on any news relating to ccfc?
3. a fan who religiously attends every game?
4. a fan who has inside knowledge of every game that was played?
5. a person who has never attended a game but turns up at one match and falls in love?

as a cardiff city fan for a very long time who may miss out on a carling cup final ticket - im not bothered if i do! - all i care about is the obvious that i see on a daily basis which is the increasing number of fans that are being attracted to their local team! - our club is growing at a fantastic rate yet there are fans arguing amongst each other, even between message boards - its time for us fans to unite and encourage every mate to realise whats on their doorstep! Their own local sleeping giant which has awakened! - every city fan needs to now get all they know down to the stadium! - this is the city of cardiff's opportunity to push their club to the very top! - us fans have a job to do too!

Exactly CCFC is for everybody who wants to support them. Not for a chosen few :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I think there is a big difference between a 'fan' and a 'supporter'

A 'fan' is effectively anyone who has a positive interest in a specific club and that IMHO includes all of the above and can also include Bluebird supporters who have a (from distance) interest in another club, e.g. the trophy-winning exploits of Chelski or ManUre, or even the style and panache of Tottenham Hotspurs

By that definition, IMHO all the above are 'fans' :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

A 'supporter' is someone who physically and financially gets down to their chosen club and watches and cheers on their team in person. These people are the 'life-blood' of their club and without them NO club could survive. So, with that in mind, ONLY No.3 above can be included (although I have genuine sympathy for those in group No.2)

summed up fantastic if it wasnt for my grandad listening in on the radio me my dad and my granson probably would not be season ticket holders.I am also not ashamed to say my wife attended the cup final my way of thanking her for supporting cardiif in her own way over the years.this is how she has supported cardiff
1 never once moaning the money i have spent
2 lifts to train stations and coach pick up points both early mornings and late at night
3 waiting hundreds of hours buying tickts for cup and away games
4 this is why i realy love her (not calling my son jack)
my plastic wife cryed at wembley three times only once with joy.
lets hope we all have tears of joy come 26th FEB be it at wembley or at home or down the club.
