Just because gower has no highrise developments,.
Gower is with in the city limits, may bee that is why the city and county council maintain the area,ie rubish colection, car parking, and so.
Its plain to see you have never been ther,as if you had you would see the emblem on all the sinings in the area pointing drivers to the beaches,or in the car parks the ticket machines with the swansea address and information on tickets.
Unfortunately i am unable to upload a pic of any sings i would gladly take to put this f*cking argument to bed,as i have no idea how to do it,willts u are a tosser fella.

Your argument has more holes than a Swiss cheese.
Cities sizes are calculated by population, not by acreage. Therefore, whether you include the population of the Gower or not, it has very little bearing on the overall population of Swansea due to the fact it is largely a rural area.
Even if you were to go by the geographical size of Swansea, look at the map below. Does the city and county of Swansea look like the biggest in Wales, let alone the UK?
Finally, as Handylegs pointed out.. West Glamorgan ceased to exist in 1996, when it was replaced by the city and county of Swansea. Just for the record, South Glamorgan became the city and county of Cardiff at exactly the same time.

South Glamorgan became Cardiff. Wrong. Parts of South Glam became Cardiff. Barry, Cowbridge etc became Vale of Glam. Get your facts right. Port Eynon and Llangennech might be administrated by Pikeyville City Council but they are not part of the City.![]()

Ok, you're quite right, albeit a bit pedantic. South Glamorgan didn't simply become the city and county of Cardiff. There were changes to the boundaries as you've quite rightly said (see, It's not that bad to admit you get it wrong occasionally, you should try it sometime Gareth), however the point remains, there is no longer a county of West Glamorgan, just as there is no longer a county of South Glamorgan.
Having said all that, you still don't get it do you Gareth? Nobody has ever said that the Gower is part of the city centre of Swansea. That would be ridiculous. What you do have to accept, is that the Gower peninsula is part of the city and county of Swansea. As I have said previously, you can't say "the Gower is in the county of Swansea, but not the city of Swansea", because there is no distinction between the two. It all comes under THE CITY AND COUNTY OF SWANSEA, of which the Gower is a part.
I've tried to put it as simply as I can Gareth, because you seem flummoxed by the whole concept that the Gower is a part of Swansea, and is not somehow completely independant from it, but do you now understand? Do you get it?

I will fully admit when I am wrong but on many occasions you have claimed that the Gower is in Swansea. The amusement I get from your over-reaction is at times almost hysterical. The fact that you come onto a CCFC website on a regular basis sums you up quite nicely.

Christ almighty, it's like trying to get blood out of a stone.
Answer me one simple question...
Do you accept that the Gower is part of the city and county of Swansea?
Yes or no?

I love the way you keep harping on about the old West Glamorgan. It's as if you can't bring yourself to use the words Swansea and Gower in the same sentence.![]()
Just to give you a comparison..
It's like me suggesting that somewhere like whitchurch is not in Cardiff. Because it's not in the city centre, does that mean it's not part of the city and county of Cardiff? Of course it doesn't. As long as it falls within the city and county of Cardiff boundaries that would make it part of the city and county of Cardiff. Same applies for all the towns and villages the Gower. They might not be in the centre of Swansea, but they are still very much a part of the city and county of Swansea. It's not rocket science!

Boyo? You sound like a condescending Englishman, who thinks all Welshmen still work down the mines and have a "special" relationship with sheep. I've been called all manner of things on here, but boyo?

It would wind me up if an Englishman called me boyo, but for it to come from a fellow Welshman is just a bit sad.
