the Craig Bellamy enigma....you decide?

Thu Jan 26, 2012 5:46 pm

Hi guys,

Just thought I'd give you a heads up on a programme going out on ITV4 next Tuesday at 9pm (January 31st) about one of your former players. Like him or loathe him, Craig Bellamy's fiery nature on the football pitch usually divides opinion amongst football fans and players alike. Less known about Craig is his outstanding charity work out in Sierra Leone and his commitment to the children of a country still recovering from a brutal civil war. As some of you might be aware, three of these boys spent the summer at Cardiff's own academy and performed fantastically. If you're interested to know more about these lads and the work Craig's doing for deprived children in Africa, check out the documentary...see whether it changes your perceptions of him!!

ITV4, 9pm, Thursday January 31st.

Cheers,

There's good and bad in lots of people. I think he's a working class boy who's done very well for himself. He wants to help those less fortunate than him and it shows he's not lost touch with reality.

I think the real test for Craig, as a man, will be how he copes once he is no longer a footballer. Good luck to him, I say. He hasn't done me any harm, but I've heard a few things about him from someone in his area that weren't good. That was years ago, though and he probably looks back on those times and cringes. Who doesn't have regrets?

Definitely worth watching that programme, I think, whether you like him or not.
