last year for a month I simply cut out chocolate, fizzy drinks, sugar in tea and take aways, did 20mins running every morning and lost over a stone. Then I got bored and put it back on and some.
New gym membership next week though, get my guns back :D

Boxing tips.

1. Breathing: Good idea this. Controlled breathing, a technique difficult to master. All good boxers you dont see gasping for air. That is because they can control their breathing during certainb moves. Such moves like jabbing where you should be breathing out when applying a jab. Or perhaps when retreating from a situation you should teach your body to breath in. Sounds simple put try applying to it. Most new learners to boxing will naturally hold their breath when applying a punch. Worst thing you can do. Punch breath out, retreat breath in.
Try this for one minute, dance around in the ring, throw a punch breath out then retrieve and breath in. Do that and you will get the idea.

2. Relaxing. When you throw a punch your arm should be relaxed. It should be totally relaxed until the moment you apply contact when you should then tense. Before applying a punch you twist your wrist for maximum effort. Upon the twist you should be relaxed and exiting the twist you should be tense. Getting the right breathing pattern will help you achieve this.
You can do alot of damage ot someone if you can produce the perfect punch action. Relax, twist, tense is part of a good punch. The final part to a perfect punch is applying contact with minimum contact area from your hand, usually the fore and index knuckles. By applying a force from a minimum area will cause more damage than from a wider areas such as the whole of your hand. The purpose of the boxing glove is to distribute this force over a wider area and that is how it softens the blow.

sweat suit/black plastic bags and around 20/30 minuets of skipping, challenge a friend to see who can do the most cross overs ect, you will sweat buckets off. drink around 3/4 litres of ICE water nice to add some lemon. if you do crave food like pizza then make sure the toppins are such things like "mushrooms, onions ect"

great to eat curry's and chilli con carne, why, because a curry is basically CHICKEN (great healthy meat) water, rice, but with the rice add sweatcorn and peas.

chilli actually boosts the metabolism so you will burn quicker mate, and makes foods like curry and chilli extra hot

remember beans on toast for breakfast is great, because the serious high amount of fibre, and their 1 of your 5 a day ;)

Protein! Turkey is your best bet, and then chicken.
Cut out carbs for most of the week, as that will shed lots of weight. It's hard trust me, training on chicken salad takes it's toll on the old hunger, but you will shed loads of weight, but still have the correct energy levels.
Im more in to strength and conditioning so my diet consists of:
Breakfast:
Fruit /yogurt / salmon
snack of grapefruit or protein
Lunch:
Salad with meat protein
Snack:
Protein shake of fruit (oposite to what was had at first snack)
Tea:
low saturate foods, sweet potato's, salmon, steaks, lean meats.

A mate of mine boxed for Wales. If he needed to shed a few pounds to get down to his weight category he would go running twice a day in full tracksuit with a bin-liner underneath to sweat like feck. dunno if it worked but thats what he said he used to do. :ayatollah:

Its what he said mate and used to do apparently just relaying what he told me over the phone. Maybe by doing that he could lose a few pounds in the few days before the weigh in?
