Craig Bellamy lovers...

Wed Jan 25, 2012 10:49 pm

Before you all slate me and remind me of what he did for our club, take a step down all that bollox, dont be so absent minded of the "whatever happens I'll be at city next season and i would even play for free" statement. I loved watching him in our blue but lost total respect when he blantantly lied. All those replying saying Liverpool is his dream club and couldnt turn it down can be considered nothing more than plastics as you can relate to this feeling with him only. I personally hate Liverpool and see it as no dream fixture, I would have much rather had Man City and tested our Malky soldiers prepared to play for the shirt week in and week out against some of the best in the world. Not against someone who skips back to liverpool because King Kenny called. You are city fans, CARDIFF CITY fans, forget bellamy, forget Liverpool.... Craig Bellamy cheated you, me and the lied to everyone associated with Cardiff City.

I know I am im sure I am Im city till I die. :ayatollah:

He didn't cheat me.

He played for my team for a full season and gave 100% - and along the way he helped to change the attitude and workrate of some of the others who are still the backbone of our club. In my opinion Whitts is the best midfielder in the Championship (and Premier quality) in part because of Bellamy's influence last season - especially at the end where the wheat and the chaff seperated! And he is (hopefully) still proud to wear and grace a Welsh shirt.

Watching him put in a MOM performance for Liverpool tonight only reminded me of what we had last season - memories that will last forever! Bring on Wembley, and 'do the ayatollah, Bellers!'

No, I don't feel cheated.

Ok. Lets say you were offered a job for 30k p/a in Cardiff and you'd told everyone you were excited to come back to Cardiff after being away for a long time.

But then you get offered 60k p/a to do the same job at a higher profile company that you'd wanted to work for your whole life.

It's an no brainer.

I totally understand what your saying..... "he said he would play for free".... whether he was offered 180k is irrelevant, if he did not mean what he said he lied. Im not doubting his effort at all when he played for us. Maybe im gullable to have beleived what he said. His statement shouted out that money was not the issue, (HE WOULD PLAY FOR FREE). If he had said the only way I would not be at city next season if liverpool came calling as they were my boyhood club then fair enough.... football to me is about loyalty, not money.

SPOT'ON!!! Cardiff liverpool man city celtic etc, is there a team he dosent love ffs he only played for us because it suited him at the time and couldn't sign fast enough for liverpool after everything he said about wantin to stay with us even if it ment playin for free blah blah me personaly hope he gets a groin strain before the final and misses the game!

Re: Craig Bellamy lovers...

Wed Jan 25, 2012 11:13 pm

He obviously wasnt going to play for free, was he? You got to take that lightly and be realistic. We just didnt have what Liverpool had to offer so it wasnt going to happen. If he'd waited another season in the Man City reserves we would definitely have him in July, on a free, at reduced wages as he will be 32(?).
P.S - Did he go to Liverpool on a free? As Man City wanted the full asking price for him

It was an extremely emotional time, we'd just missed out on play offs yet again and Bellamy thought that Man City would just allow him to leave the club on loan without any problems. He didn't think that Man City would actually try to reduce their wage bill and if he actually came to us on a free and worked for free how is he supposed to support himself? Yes he's rich from being on City's books for so long but because of that he's living a rich lifestyle. Factor in his academy in Sierra Leone and it becomes apparent he needs money.

I'm sure we've all said things in the heat of the moment that in the cruel light of day are impractical. The difference is you and I don't have a newspaper reporting our every word to nearly a million people who feel as if they're entitled to a player who, on recent performances, wouldn't look out of place in the current City/United/Spurs sides.

Absolute rubbish!! You don't KNOW what occured between Craig, his agent and the club over the summer (when, I remind you, the club were in some dissaray) so are not in a position to make such an assumption!!

At the end of the day, Craig is a PROFESSIONAL footballer and given the choice to play for Liverpool in the Premiership on a LOT more money than he would have been on down here or take a chance on a team that were looking 'consolidation' material at best, I certainly don't blame him!! ;)

And we haven't exactly done too badly in his absence either, have we?? ;)

Pathetic, TBH

Bellers will always be a Cardiff legend - its pointless even entering into a debate with the original poster on this thread, and I think the vast majority of our fans will agree.

I wouldn't call someone who played a season for us, a lot of it spent injured..where we didn't achieve promotion to the top flight a cardiff legend lol yes he gave us some good memorys I.e the goal away to the jacks, but he aint no cardiff legend! Annd he plays for liverpool, the team we got in the final, I for one hope he dosent get his dream game, instead I hope he has a nightmare of a game if he does line up against us in the final, last thing I want is to see him score the winner against us so he can pretend to look glum and not celabrate cos he scored against his HOME TOWN CLUB HE LOVES SO MUCH lol

Re: Craig Bellamy lovers...

I have no feeling one way or the other towards Bellars. I dont feel let down by him. Would have been nice to have got him back for another season but shit happens. Did we really try hard enough? Craig himself didnt think so, although MM said tonight that Bellars and the Malays are still in contact.

He is a fantastic footballer, and it was great we had someone of his quality for a season (albeit he didnt really perform until the 2nd half of it) but there is no way he is a Cardiff legend. What did he play 30/40 games? And didnt win a promotion. Thats not really legendary,

I dont even care if he celebrates if he scores tbh. Scoring a goal in a cup final is the stuff of childhood dreams. Some fans are too precious and think the whole of football owes them something,

I agree on the scoring thing.

I think that Bellamy should feel free to celebrate as much as he likes if he scores. He probably won't have another shot at Wembley at his age and scoring would be amazing for him.

Re: Craig Bellamy lovers...

I don't want him to score FULLSTOP! Infact I don't want him to play, he's one of liverpools main threats, best player even, so if him not playin means cardiff have a better chance of pulling off a shock then I hope he's got a deadleg or groin strain and misses the final.. I dnt want to see him score, celebrate or be on the field to set up other goals or anything lol

Re: Craig Bellamy lovers...

Thu Jan 26, 2012 12:21 am

End of the day, our club didnt put an offer to man city to buy him, and liverpool did. What do you expect him to do, just play reserve football at man city.

Re: Craig Bellamy lovers...

Thu Jan 26, 2012 12:31 am

Craig loves cardiff, its his home team.
He is a profesional football player, and he will always play to his best ability.
He gave his support to us tonight.
I 100% no he will be torn between the club he is loyal too, that pay his wages and his home club he loves.
If you were a Liverpool fan, how would you feel if your player pledged to the opposition.
The guy is in a no win situation, but although he will not show it he will not be that gutted if we win.

Lets just hope that he still plays for wales. The guy has always given 100%, he is Welsh and proud to be and a true Bluebird.
Ramsay would be the same, as would Bale. Listen to those names Welsh players giving wales a chance.
us bluebirds could be abroad soon watching international football because of them all.

If Bellers scores so be it, he will do his best but with some regret.
We are underdogs lets go and enjoy a wembley final without expectation like we had last time.
We may still shock the nation with a win and with Malky at the Helm nothing would be surprising.

He had a cat and mouse game with Man City where if they had paid off his contract in full he would have come to us BUT Man City wouldn't do that as it was not in their benefit so they would only let him go on a free transfer with no pay off. Liverpool snapped him up offering him an extra year but less wages. We could not compete with the wages on offer. Bellers shouldn't have to lose loads of money to play for us especially as he uses his cash to help children in Sierra Leone.

I have no problem with what Bellamy did. He gave us a season and tried his very best for us. He has a lot of credit around the football world for what he did for us.

cash is king FACT why i never listen to any of these badge kissing corn snakes who are supposed to have a cardiff city tattoo on the prick, ive seen more loyal stray dogs than football players this is how it is :ayatollah:

Re: Craig Bellamy lovers...

Thu Jan 26, 2012 8:20 am

Let's be real here.
Bellamy is bound to split our fans
There are those that are greatfull he ever came and
Those who are pissed of cos he lied.

I feel both

What I did realise was that nobody around that team last season shared Bellamys
drive, passion, skill and professionalism.
Our players either didn't care or were intimidated by him.

It was a good but small chapter in our history, and we are better for it.

So I would never boo Bellamy (in fact I would applaud him) but ohh how I want him kicked into row z if he stands between
My beloved Cardiff City and winning a cup final. :ayatollah:

Re: Craig Bellamy lovers...

Thu Jan 26, 2012 8:33 am

Why do people think Bellamy is a cardiff fan??? He a self admitted Liverpool fan, always has been!

Someone said earlier we were a convienience for him, Man city wouldnt let him join a prem team so he came to us. Personally i dont blame him for joining Liverpool. More money, professionally a bigger club with better prospects of winning things and they are his boyhood team, however, i will never forgive him for lying all through the season regarding him coming back to us. I understand if he had said it once in the heat of the moment, but he said it several times that he'd only ever play for man city or Cardiff, that he'd play for free, blah blah blah blah.

What craig did at the end of the season was sit down with the malaysians to give his opinion on what was wrong with the club and why we fell at the last hurdle.
The views that craig gave regarding training, coaching and preperation for matches and opponents under dave jones made the malaysians realise that we needed a change of management if we were to move forward as a club.
Because of those discussions we now have malky in charge and a more proffesional approach to everything within the football club and we can all see the rewards we are reaping from it.
Not since eddie mays team in 1993 have i seen a team so committed to the cause and the shirt.
For that i am grateful to craig and i know one day he will be back at the club in some form of coaching capacity probably with the acadamy and we will benefit as a club from his proffessional attitude to preperation for matches.
Im sorry but i cant find fault with a guy who was able to find himself the opportunity to play another two years in the premiership with a club he has idolised as a boy.
The fact that he still speaks to the malaysians on a regular basis means he still has the clubs interest at heart and has a desire to return here when his liverpool contract expires.
I along with i suspect thousands of others will welcome him with open arms

Good post Jon, I agree. :ayatollah:

You've got to be naive to think that a professional footballer would choose us over Liverpool. He did his time for us and even that season alone was more than what 99.9% of professional footballers would have done. He owes us nothing.
