Tickets For Wembley - A Flaw In the System

Wed Jan 25, 2012 9:19 pm

Whilst I understand what the club are trying to do with not offering two tickets toseason ticket holders -.I think the club are over looking one thing. If they do offer an additonal ticket for when you renew at a later date of what relevance is that to a season ticket holder because the extra ticket is not going to be sat with that person and surely that is the purpose of getting an extra one.

Think the club should offer the option to renew at the time thus securing the extra ticket there and then.

If not can see the club struggling to sell them

Annis/Carl- have the club really thought this through ?

Not having a go , but why do people want an extra ticket , surely if all ambassadors have one ticket each , then away members ,then open to all cardiff fans registered on database ,surely fair way that all genuine loyal fans get a ticket , danger of giving ambassadors two tickets is the tickets will go to family and friends who don't follow the city , meaning genuine fans would miss out .

In my opinion, the people who went to Oxford & Huddersfield should get first choice of the tickets... I.e. Look on the system and see what fans have been to every league cup game and work from that... Like Annis said yesterday, THOUSANDS of season ticket holders did not go to the game last night, but now get their chance to watch the team at Wembley, why?

because last February i paid £400+ for a season ticket not knowing what league we're in, we were losing lots of players, not knowing if we were gonna have a club if Tanny pulled out, if we were still about fighting relegation! You went to a few early matches......who is the loyal supporter???

Me personally, I don't think I deserve a ticket to Wembley, Im not a season ticket holder, and I can't attend every home game as it's just out of my budget. The Carling cup run was a chance for me to support the team on a budget, getting to go to every game and I am thankful for the club for letting me do that.
If I get lucky with a ticket I will be over the moon, If I don't then I know the right person will have the ticket.

Don't think I've said anyone is less of a loyal supporter  . Just because you "fork out" £400 on a season ticket doesn't make you more of a fan than someone who forks out £250 on clothing or a trip for the family to the CCS does it? Just saying that the 400 who traveled to Oxford should actually have a chance of a ticket.

Every time we've been to Wembley, apart from Barnsley in the FA Cup, our fans have been dead. We may as well had taken 10,000 or less because of the amount of Plastics. I really hope the club works it out so that the few who have been there on rainy nights in the First, Second & Third round get theirs if they CAN afford, And I ain't one of them but think that would be a reward to them from the club.

Do agree about the two tickets for non fans but my point was trying to buy an extra one for people on database or away members so they can sit with you surely this could be done - with technology today and all that............

On that same point how does going to Oxford make you any more of a loyal supporter?

It was a night game, very few people can make night games at the best of times and away as well and during the summer when people have probably used all their vacation days in work up it's unreasonable to base a decision on such an arbitrary criteria.

Well actually if I forked out on my season ticket and someone attens a few games a season, then yeah it does make us season ticket holders 'more of a fan' and for our loyalty in buying our S/T's we are rewarded by being guaranteed tickets for the big competitions... get over it...!!!

31,00+ tickets for Wembley and 22,500 average home gate

Erm, where are the fans 'missing out' in those numbers??

Just a point ;)

If we have approximately 19,000 ST/half ST holders and if the club decide to allocate 2 each that comes to 38,000ish tickets...which one's should miss out? cos the maths don't work out.
38,000 tickets promised to ST holders but only approx 31,000 tickets allocated from Wembley stadium.
If you're a season ticket holder and yer mate who sits by you is also a season ticket holder why would you want 2 tickets each? You would both be gauranteed tickets plus you'd have 1 spare each, now it's nobody else's business who you gave/sold your other ticket to but it's possible genuine fans who attend when able would miss out in this scenario, people that work shifts or are financially stretched to afford a season ticket but go when able.
1 ticket is ample IMO for ST holders, you've commited to the club and bought a season ticket so you get your promised reward a gaurateed ticket for play off's cup finals etc.

Im not season ticket holder, was but arent anymore. obviously st have always and will always be priorty, so ive no argument about it. I just hate twats looking down their noses at people that are not as well off as themselves!

I ABSOLUTLY AGREE WITH YOU MATE. i was laid off on the 19th december, and they didnt even pay me for the weeks work, i ended up being paid £100 for 32 hours after my transport fee, and was paid to be in january, people who have ST think they deserve a golden horse and carridge to wembley and think us without a ST should just find a tv to watch it on. i really do hope wembley go, go on will allocated 40,000 tickets, and theres plenty to go around for other fans

it really is shocking how quick fans are "all in this together" until we get to a big game, then it becomes a competiton, im a ST holder so im better than you bulls*it........im only 20, and as hard as it is to get a job now, being young makes it even harder. i remember going back when i was a kid, and the crowds where dismal.....the thing is though, god forbidden, if the club suddenly lost all , and was back in division 3, the ST holders would be saying "im not buying a ST, just pay at the gate"

Now who said they were a 'better fan; than you NO FUCKER..!! what I said was as a ST holder the same as all the other ST hoders as a reward for buying our tickets we get priority for cup matches.. end of .. thats the deal and always has been. but always the same shit..

what beats me is
1. people say they can't get to weekend games due to this that or whatever but can now suddenly make time go to Wembly

2. can't afford a ST even though you can buy one in instalments (which i did as can't afford to pay for one outright) but suddenly can afford to go to Wembley... LMAO

and as for I quote' I hope you get a stretch of bad luck as many do and see how u feel when u look down on people through no fault of their own, when life go's wrong! .. How the f**k is that my fault or any other fan who bought a ST and entitled a ticket to Wembley's fault.... do you think the 18500 ST holders are all well off and could easily afford a ST, I think not. Probably a lot as the same as me paid for them in instalments..

Get over yourself...!!

It comes down to circumstances, if i was in a well paid job which i was and everything was rosey worrying about the price of a st didnt happen. the b*stard recession hit i lost my job and the only way i could get a menial job ws to leave my management quals off my C.V! So i know exactley how hard it is for work.

Whts with your bullshit remark? i dont understand what you mean?
