That was the best ever performance I've seen from Darcey! Absolutley incredible, I know palace froze a bit, but he did a fabulous job, and has come and covered for McNaughton very well....

Well done Darcey, pat yourself on the head son.

(wasn't really a Darcey fan, but today - He's made me swing in his favour big time!)

he was superb, especially after his booking! Malky made the right decision to take him off though :ayatollah:

Darcy was immense tonight and I never thought I'd ever say this but I feel we lost a little bit of class when Super Kev came on.

Agree, credit where credit's due.

Zaha did turn him once or twice too easily, and beat him for pace a few times (as would be expected really), but overall he was great; getting tight to Zaha whenever the opportunity arose and always getting 'stuck in' - but on his feet and nearly always winning the ball. Well played Darcy :ayatollah:

outstanding darcy, will super kev get his place back
zaha will play premiership football one day, darcy owned him tonight
disagree bout the1 0/10 though id edge towards a 12 or maybe 13/10 :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Re: DARCY BLAKE = 10/10

Took about 10 minutes to get into the game but once he did, Zaha could not get past him. Class display but Turner was my Man of the Match. Like a rock in the back, and that tackle was timed perfectly. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Credit where it is due; I thought that was Darcy's best all round game ever for us tonight and (despite not being his greatest fan by some distance) I applauded him from the pitch. His general defending was outstanding on the whole and his distribution/passing was evry good too ;)

M-o-M?? Not for me (that was Macca for me ;) ) but maybe the penny has finally dropped?? I do hope so :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Well done, Darcy. Credit where it is due!! :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Ithought it was his best performance to date for the city, i also thought malky subbed him at the right time to. Dont know what ur saying about wembley and england but he did mark rooney out of the game, It was by no means a 'flawless' performance but in my opinion as well as probably 23000 bluebirds he had a stormer, yes he made mistakes but how many 1 on 1's did kenny miss because of his poor left foot? 3 i made it? Anyway in my opinion 9/10 for Darcy :ayatollah:

Certainly subbed at the right time, kev offered us width we needed with an extra man.
Pointless debating the England game now IMO. Rooney on form can destroy darcy or any of our defenders end of really.

Indeed rooney on his day can destroy defenses but he didnt! we need two out and out wingers i agree with u totally about width it is the only ingrediant were missing apart from final third composure, we seem to stall in the final third? whether thats my judgement or its wrong is another debate in its self.

Re: DARCY BLAKE = 10/10

Blakes best performance this season but no where near his best game for us?
IMO he will never be a RB but don't a very good job tonight.
If he can lose a stone maybe he can be a RB but not sure, for me a CB (so would need to keep that stone).

We lack width yes but we don't play with wingers really. If we have two real wingers we have to respect we will be a lot more open in games. IMO its drastic considering the success we has had.
I like one winger as an option.

I've been saying conway for ages but it seems he has had injuries, quality player.

Darcy is versatile, thats what is so good bout him he can play all through the back four and do a job in mid-field duties, maybe u dont think it was his best game but i do! With regard to the winger a quick man in-front of Kev on the right would be good as eachothers pace would compliment, so i agree in that regard and im happy with cowie on the left but he is our only out and out wide man we need one for the right, and a spare for cover imo. whats yours :ayatollah: preferably some1 who can use both feet ala bellamy but u must see where im going with this?

Re: DARCY BLAKE = 10/10

Wed Jan 25, 2012 3:29 am

I've always said darcys value is in his versatility.
IMO he is not good enough to be number one in any position but a solid player in many.

I do agree a winger/ striker player would be useful but just cautious we don't dismiss what we have.
Noone and Phillips we are reported with and IMO just what we need, potentially as sub until they prove otherwise

I'll meet u half way, target man (striker) and a winger(priority!). the players were inked towould be what we need, lets hope that now weve cemented the money we can meet their demands in all respects and malky can sign who he wants :) :ayatollah:

IMO those are the exact players we need, I think 3,4, players could ruin what we have tbh.
If he can get the right two then who knows :ayatollah:

Tbh I'm not slagging off darcy, he played very well tonight :ayatollah:

I'm usually a big critic of Darcy's upfield contribution BUT (as stated above) I have to give credit where it 's due and say tonight he was VERY good all round :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Neither does it wash with me. I always maintain that Rooney received no service or support from his team-mates that night, and, add that to the fact he was up front on his own all night, means that he was isolated against two centre-halves.
