THE NAMING OF TARGETS

I have read through a few threads this evening and think I need to point something put so everyone sees what I have said and it is not hidden in another thread.

Right on Saturday before the Pompey game I got a call about Jamie Mackie and that representatives of City were travelling to London to discuss a possible move with Mackies people. I did not post this info but I did state in a response to 'City Gent' that I had heard very much the same that he had posted just after midday on Saturday.

Just before kick off I took a call telling me about the medical centre being put on the ready for the intended targets.

Annis has pointed out a thread this afternoon that he and I agreed that we would not reveal the names of the intended targets.

But as I explained to Annis this afternoon after he posted his bemusement I had heard that Blackpool press would be running the story this afternoon and that Walesonline were going to probably run with it also.

For those who read the thread at the outset will know I stated the players current squad number, 23, and no this name nor the club he is with.

Once I had the heads up it was going public elsewhere, I put the name out.

I have not alerted any clubs to our intended targets, I am not undermining our club, I am not destabilising our club.

Right now I got that off my chest, I hope everyone is now happy.

In readiness for the inevitable questions, probably from Samccfc1927, Sam all I can say is we have made an offer and it has been rejected, was it £500k or £800k ? The answer is it was neither of those amounts but it was in between, if what I have been told is indeed correct.

Will we up our offer? Well my answer would be, and this is purely my opinion and not inside info, I doubt the club ever thought they would get Phillips for that amount but there again did Man Utd expect to get Cantona so cheap.

If deals don't happen they don't happen for a reason or a number of reasons but don't anyone try and claim that I am causing a problem for the club when in fact you couldn't be further from the truth.

It seems to me that Blackpool are the ones who have made our bid public knowledge (not Carl). From their perspective if they do wish to sell Phillips then it makes perfect sense to alert other clubs to Phillips avaiablity as a bidding war will push his price up.

Clearly there's a fourth loan note in play that says that if we don't sign a Winger by Thursday Langstone automatically gain 20% shares in the club and an additional 5% shares until the end of the January transfer window.

Carl knows this and is being paid in mobile phone top ups to sustain his high usage phone lifestyle!

I would say do not take your eye of Craig Noone just yet.

Won`t having only one eye have an adverse effect on his ability to play?

Looks like Carl Can't win when it comes to "give us the name of the players"...He has done what the club wants and said nothing in his thread from the weekend,of names but just medicals could take place this week.

If a paper or another fans forum give out a name,it's then No secret to who the player is....
So (IMO ) Carl has every right to go ahead....Otherwise someone else is going to post a name and a link

Carl/Malky/Cardiff City/Wales media have all agreed to only nowadays put stuff out once City and Malky are happy with it and this is the case here, we are all sticking by our word.

1st I saw yest afternoon was Delme Parfit posting on Twitter about Phillips ..... which was about the same time Carl mentioned a targetted number 23 which if Im being honest just about everybody speculating on here got wrong . Infact just about every 23 in the Prem League was mentioned but NOT Phillips until AFTER Parfit said it .
