" Craig Conway "

Sat Jan 21, 2012 7:48 pm

Malky himself has said the lad has struggled with injuries for weeks

The whole fan base has been crying out for a pacy winger who can beat
his man.

So what does Craig do......

f*cking HAVE SOME OF THAT!!!!

No sulking, spitting his dummy out, feeling sorry for himself.

THIS is the type of player Malky Mackay takes his time in signing, this is
the reason he doesnt just dive in for any old 'name'

Sounded like I missed an emotional one. Luckily i found a link to listen
to it.

Salaam Alaikam brothers!!!!! :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

it does seem like a rest was good for him... think maybe we could do the same with cowie, however we dont really have a direct replacement at the moment..

Conway looked like a player who needed a bit of confidence but also needed a shake up. If its possible to need both!?!

He worked his guts out today and then boooooooooooooooooooooooosh! :ayatollah:

He was our man of the match today.

He wanted the ball at every opportunity, great outlet kept possession well, although he's not the winger that can take players on everytime, he can sure beat them with smart possession play, passes and his crosses are always dangerous. I don't want to. Compare him to beckham but he has a great distribution. Into the box without having to beat a man.

Man of the match today with a winning goal and great tracking back.

Well done Conway you've earned your place for tuesdays big game!

Re: Craig Conway

Bit of an over the top post, but I agree. I was a bit worried to say the least when our only real out-and-out winger found himself out of the team and a section of our crowd getting on his back whenever he did play. So fair play to him for performing like he did today! :ayatollah:

That's what posting at 1am after few bevvies does :D :D No patch on beckham, well call that a bit of poetic license.

I did notice the crowd getting on his back in previous games, I think we have to appreciate he's not Aaron Lennon walcott Burke type winger who attacks the fb and goes past him every time, he does have other strings to his bow mainly his delivery into the box. Great to see him back, we need him on form for palace Tuesday :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I'm sorry Conway is poor and just not good enough , every time he gets the ball he turns his back towards his own goal and just has no pace to be playing on the wings and no his late winning goal will not cover that up.
Also we played utter shit tbh but nobody will care because we won right at the end, but we were utterly crap for much of the match against one of the poorest sides I've seen in years

Rubbish did we. We were awful yesterday against a team that was so bad it was untrue and its the worst performance I've ever seen from Aron Gunnarsson, Hundson had a shocker too . We should have been out of sight after 20 mins , but allowed them to get back in Nobody cares because we won - just like up Forest(where were equally awful) , but it can't hide the fact we were poor and Conway isn't good enough to play on the wings

But if we can win playing as crap as we did, it's a good thing I guess

What game were you watching we played away two mistakes resulted in two goals yes. Hudson players Gunnarsson wasn't his usual self but still quality. Yeah we missed a couple of chances but doesn't every side. Conway's quality and he had a drop of form before being dropped and came back with a bite

For the 1st 20 mins we were good and should have been out of sight , but then we let them get into the game and the game was poor (hence why so many left early I bet) To be honest though its not a big deal as we won and I couldn't give a shit .
Conway is a good player , but he's not suitable to be playing where he is, every time he get the ball he turns his back to the opposition goal and slows the game down , he just hasn't the pace to beat players on the wings and sorry a great goal at the end won't cover that fact .

You are talking shit.

We bossed the game from start to finish. Their first goal was a freak, and lazy play from Joe Mason led to the 2nd. We had them pinned back the whole of the 2nd half ffs.

You are obviously watching too much Barcelona

A great goal will never cover anything up for me. IMO hes a quality player and tbh its really difficult to cross when you got two dwarves in the box and on saturday no one was running into the box (except Hudson of course). I thought it was a great performance and for me Conway was man of the match (not to just saying this to fight for my opinion). We could throw arguments at each other all day, its a difference of opinion lets just agree to disagree ;) :ayatollah:

I have saw wee Craig come through at my locsl club Ayr United. He used to cut hair in the town.I have no idea how often you have saw him play. The guy does have the pace,he was never the fastest in the SPL.When he was with Dundee United. But he was never slow,he worked his way into the Scotland squad there. His strengths are the early cross, into the box.I agree with the other poster that had been on the pop.I would say his delivary,is up there with Robert Snodgrass. When it comes to Scotland players. Both find it hard to start games with us.Hope Snodgrass moves to the EPL.So he starts more Scotland games for us.Give the guy time for what I have saw,he is still finding his feet down there. And has done OK so far,but I honestly expect him to do a lot more.Just give him a chance, and he will do you proud. And remember that you got him for nothing. So you had nothing to lose, bye taking him down to Wales.Good luck for the season, hope you go up.And beat City if you get them in the final.

What is this ? I'm a season ticket holder and so watch all the home games and been to 5 away games this season - not the best by working and having a life outside of footy gets in the way and all that .

Sorry Conway is a good player, but he has no pace and its not a great winger imo, he's more a central midfield player
