There has been talk (as usual) about getting players here etc and the board are fully behind the manager and he can have money to get players inThe BOTTOM line every time is the board DO NOT like paying transfer fees Am i wrong?

No diverting from the fact the board are reluctant to spend on players. Dave Massive Failure Jones used that lately against the board although we have spent money on the likes of Miller and Gunnarson or was it Turner? It seems to me the board will spend but they want value for money which until MM came they have not got.

Dave Jones claimed lately that the Malaysians were not interested in buying players. Moaner claimed that if he could have brought players instead of beinging in loanees he would have had a better sqaud. It is difficult to believe him when he was given the services of quite a few premeirship players last season.

After thinking about it for awhile I've come to the conclusion that the Malaysians were adamant that he got them promotion last season but didn't give him the funds to buy the players he needed.

He was left with the option to get a squad full of players that weren't quite good enough or to bring in a bunch of quality players on loan.

Obviously if they were on loan they wouldn't have the motivation to play for the shirt like proper signings would so he had to offer them more money than he would have given to transfers to keep them motivated.

The difference between him and Malky is Malky hasn't been told promotion is a must so he went out on a three year plan that seems to have gone much quicker than anyone anticipated.

Which leaves the matter of whether the three years of funds will be accelerated in the same way as the players performances have come along.

Yes it is difficult to believe him However when it becomes clesr that a club wants a reasonable fee then we appear to always finf a reason why we either do not want him or another club want him etc

Didnt they say they didnt mind paying decent wages but not massive transfer fees.. Jones did both... Course it'll be disappointing if we dont go up this year as it has been for the last umpteen seasons but the bigger picture is that when Jones went the plan was to re-build with a new manager not to seek automatic promotion.. I dont think any of us can really say we'd imagined that we'd be doing as well as we are now with the players we lost in the summer.. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:
