If the worst comes to the worst.....

Sat Jan 21, 2012 9:36 am

Let's just say that Malky gets obsolutely no backing from the board this window. I'm speaking hypothetically of course ;) What do you think our current squad is capable of. Are there any positions that would be 'uncoverable' in the event of injury? Miller springs to mind but Mason has covered that successfully this season. If Whitts was out could we manage with a midfield options Conway gunnerson kiss mcphail and cowie?
We have Gerard Hudson and turner as centre backs and Naylor could cover Taylor if need be, and he hasn't been to bad under MM. Lack of cover for Kev is a worry, with Darcy blowing hot and cold.
Heaton is no mug as a sub keeper.

Now obviously the point I'm making is with only a couple of injuries perhaps we could cope, you can't aim off my an major injury crisis.

So opinions please, with the squad we have, with no investment, what do you think we could do in the second half of the season???

(no doom and gloom intended with this post, I have my fingers crossed for investment, just asking the question)

Playoffs would still be achievable with the way results go in this league!

if we didn't bring in one player in this transfer window i'd be disappointing because we're doing so well and an extra few bodies would benefit us greatly but if you actually look at the squad...we have some good backup that can come in when needed and immediately do a job, like the above post mentioning mason, ralls, you could throw gestede, blake, gerrard even earnie IF he is in malky's plans at all.
