English city fans

Fri Jan 20, 2012 10:16 pm

I have not posted on here for a few months and stood back and viewed.... this maybe said after a few bow, but it needs to be to said.

I am en english, both my daughters are welsh. born and bred in cardiff, but I am not.

What seriously winds me up is the (taffy welsh cardiff city have to be born in wales fan). I love Cardiff, I love wales but cannot choose where I was born, I am proud to be english but equally proud to be a Cardiff City fan. Before you drop your fag, spit out your bow or scream men of harlech at me, IM NOT A PLASTIC. Ive been down the city since i can remember. Whilst I personally mourned the death of Mr Speed, I felt the pain of the nation, which to this day is devestating. What I am asking for is for all the Fluer de lis tattoed clan is to recognise that if we are ever going to be a big club, welcome all who chooses to wear the bluebird on their chest. stop all this "your only a city fan if your born this side of the bridge bollox". How many of you were at yeovil pre season with me ? how many of you were with me at forest on new years eve or barnet at home 2007 in the carling cup pissing down with rain on a tuesday night.
Whoever you are, wherever your from. We are all city till we die. The sooner we bring down the plastic barrier etc, and unite as the club the better. Cmon city... lets do it.

nice one mate... i just hate all the plastics talk, anyone new or old wants to support our club they should be welcomed with open arms, first game, or ninian park historian, it doesnt matter. your never judged on your previous history, its only what we do as a club from now that matters, malkys a revelation, a man with heart. lets welcome the change in all areas :ayatollah:

I have got to hand it to English born City fans, you must be committed to the cause. Let's be honest it would be easier to stay away and avoid any abuse from the Welshie's and also the English who wonder why you'd support Cardiff.

I tip my hat to you sir and hope the parochial Welsh City fans are few and far between. :ayatollah:

Can I ask where you were born?

bobbankbandit - you are a bluebird, one of us, end of story. A City fan is a City fan. Support Cardiff City and England, just as some of us support Cardiff City and Wales, no problem. Just ignore the in your face plastic taffies. Most of them are really egg-chasers probably :ayatollah:

There are loads of English Cardiff City supporters. I moved to Wales when I was seven. I am English. I went down the City since I was little as City were my local team. I got shit off loads of Welsh kids at school who supported mostly Liverpool. I didnt understand why they werent Cardiff fans. I now live in Oz and have heaps of Welsh and English Cardiff supporting mates here and back home. I have been home and away since I was a kid. I have been to Millwall, Stoke, Spurs etc and been on the front line.

I personally couldn't give a f**k if some Welsh lad said I wasnt a City fan because I am English. They probably supported Liverpool groeing up while I was past of the 3000 watching shit football and loving every minute of being in division four whilst dreaming of one day getting to Wembley.

We did it. I am a proud Englishman. I get a lot of banter. I am a man. I can take it. I give it back. I am a loyal supporter. I am proud to have a Cardiff City tattoo and I am very proud to be a lifelong true Cardiff lad.

It doesn't matter which side of the bridge you were born, what nationality you are or what club, if any, you followed previously. Once you fall in love with Cardiff City F.C. you become part of a Bluebird family, you wear your heart on your sleeve, your colours or pin badge with pride, knowing that you share the rollercoaster, savour the highs and suffer the lows and belong with the most passionate set of fans in football. I am originally from Southampton and moved to Cardiff in 1987. I will be back in Southampton in ten days time supporting the Bluebirds and cheering them on to victory. BLUE ARMY! :ayatollah:

You dont have to be born in Cardiff or Wales to be a Cardiff Fan, Most people on here think I hate englishmen , truth is I dont ! What I hate is people that put Wales down ,that goes for Plastic Welshmen too. What I do hate is the Government and the way they have treated Wales. But I dont hate every englishman just cos hes english, to be 100% honest my Daughter is going to marry an englishmen next year. To be honest my other team is Wolves and have been for over 45 years, and alot of the guys at Wolves know Im Welsh and are great guys. So we have good & bad in all ,Just enjoy the game and keep your Support for Cardiff. :ayatollah:

I'v e gone down to CCS games when we play certain teams (leeds and Notts Forest) WITH welsh boys who follow those teams.
we've drunk before that game and after - i've even seen welsh flags in the away end

Those same teams singing anti-welsh songs and 'sheepshaggers' etc

You look at the number of wolves, everton, liverpool, mah u, man c, arsenal, spurs, chelsea fans from wales and they have to stand or sit watching their fellow supporters shout racist things or sing and chant when they play against us, or jacks or wrexham/newport etc. When we play teams -their MBs will have more that 1 anti-welsh post or thread

what i'm saying is - it happens

City fans are from everywhere, with different views and backgrounds
but the one thing that unites us is....

CARDIFF CITY FC
