this is loosely based on fact. class dramatisation! watched the first wire season impressed! aint the sopranos IMO! each to his own! boardwalk next season will have a lot more emphasis on al capone! be a great showcase for stephen graham. the best actor in britain at this point in time!

Watched a interview with mark whalberg(exec producer) he said season two needed a big send off and despite jimmy being a popular character there wasn't much more they could do with him as he's a fictional character. And next series will a rise from Al Capone in chicago.
Also Agen Vanalden has ran his course also and Michael Shannon is off to finish playing General Zod.

Also hinted that Nucky will become a lot darker and less playboyish and could see more names popping up like Bugsy Siegel and a few others.. Apparently HBO want it to run for another 3 or 4 seasons.

Boardwalk empire was class, looking fwd to next episode and was never really able to predict the plot, especially killing of jimmy. Also watching the wire first series and also very impressed. How many of these have they made. Good programme.

like sopranos but in the projects. much grittier.

The wire is a bit slow and dated for the first season, but they obviously got a bigger budget after that because series 2 onwards is amazing. Second only to Sopranos in my opinion.

Read earlier up the thread that someone (the humblegringo) said they gave up after the first season - it's worth putting in the effort and going on to the second series because it gets amazing.

And if you like Boardwalk and The Wire there is a show called Breaking Bad all about a chemistry teacher who starts making crystal meth, and that's of the same standard just about. It's class.

Sons of Anarchy.

You won't be disappointed.

Except for the fact that the main character (one of the actors in Green Street) still cannot do accents.
