With music on iCloud does it have to be purchased through iTunes to appear on Cloud? As I've got about 50gb worth on my iTunes library but it doesn't show up( all collected over the years but none from iTunes because I've only started using it recently), will purchasing Match make a difference?
Cheers in advance.

Go into iCloud on your device (iOS5) and it shows you what can be shared on icloud. It's main purpose is to share photos, apps, data, emails, contacts etc etc on another idevice signed in to the same apple I'd - you can photo share too. So for example, take. Photo on your iPhone, and it will also appear in the camera roll on your iPod or iPad at the same time over iCloud. as far as I'm aware you can't store music in iCloud, but you can access your settings on your device to back up your device to iCloud rather than your pc/mac.
iTunes Match is probably more what you're looking for - but that is basically to access your iTunes library from any of your devices anywhere in the world (pending a 3G/wifi connection)
P.s. doesn't matter when you started collecting music, as long as its on your computer you can add it all to your iTunes library.
Any music you've bought through iTunes store will show up as downloaded in your library not iCloud.
