I recall him as a corner was being taken, running along the goal line with his clenched fist thrust under the keeper's jaw.
When it came to shooting with the heavy old ball, there was no fussy scuffing the shots or fancy bending of the shot; he clubbed it directly into the keeper or the net and sometimes you didn't see the ball until it raged in the net. Ah memories.

Evening Lee,
You're Grampy knew his football then. You should read of a game between Villa And Man,Untd when Lightning played around the stadium and Ford was cracking the goals in as the thunder rolled in the background. Great days.
I would have loved to hear what he would have had to say about these last 10 years or so and his thoughts on our new stadium and facilities etc.

Clive,
I do agree he is one of our greats, but Earnshaw being our top scorer in 3 divisions and scoring a hatrick in all 4 divisions, plus his first spell in the Premier League, he was 4th or 5th top scorer in the Premier League, also scored hatricks in the FA CUP, surely makes Robert Earnshaw our best ever striker ?
