This afternoon I took a call and amongst various subjects regarding City, one in particular caught my attention more than the rest. I was told, and I don’t know myself if this is 100% fact or not, that since the buildings went up around the outskirts of the stadium, ie. KFC, McDonalds, Sand Martin then we can no longer increase our stadium capacity to the 60,000 figure that was always heralded when the stadium build started, apparently because of the lack of exits then we would not be allowed to increase to such a capacity. If this is indeed true then I am gobsmacked that the regime who allowed this to happen, actually went for short term survival over long term planning. I will be asking more questions tomorrow about this to see if it is indeed true.

Shocking. It actually makes logical sense, thinking about it. It would be difficult enough with a full house at our current capacity, never mind anything over it.

Dalman was registered as a director on 10/01/12 at Companies House. Dalman is a football man and as you have read probably today that he has been around football for a long time.
U-Jiun is pursuing other interests and he being replaced has no bearing on the Malaysians position at the club.
Dalman has spent weeks going through the due diligence process and I am told is not just becoming a director but will be investing into the club as well. He has experience and expertise at brokering deals and Dalman becoming a director bears more than just a coincidence with some information I was told last night.
I have been led to believe that the Langston and PMG debts will be dealt with and it is expected that both will be completed this summer, everything I have been told about Dalman is positive and that his appointment is a very good acquisition by the club.
As we know Malky, Steve Borley and Alan Whiteley are in Malaysia and that the primary reason is to support the 1MCC grass roots foundation but if anyone thinks that Malky is not there discussing the possibility to have more funds to spend in the transfer window is somewhat naïve.
I can confirm that the club does have an interest in Jamie Mackie, QPR, but no offer has been made because I am told that up to this point the budget will not stretch to the £1.5million that QPR are seeking, added to that is Mackie is on a very high wage at Loftus Road. There is interest from other clubs for Mackie so if City wish to get him then Malky has to hope that he is given more money to spend in this window.
With the Craig Noone bid, I am told there is a ‘bit of poker’ going on at present and Malky was hoping to play it all out behind the scenes but once it got out in the press then his cover was blown, it is expected that an improved offer will be made for Noone.
Steve Borley is out in Malaysia to discuss the ‘House of Sport 2’ that he is planning on building next to the original building and when this is built it will give the club the grade 2 academy level that they are just shy of at the moment.
As I said in a previous update Aaron Wildig completed an extension to his Shrewsbury loan and he will now stay on loan until the end of the season.

The club are very happy with the recent surge in sales of Crystal Palace tickets but would like to remind supporters that there is a more important game taking place and that is the Portsmouth game on Saturday, the club hope that City fans turn up in their thousands and buy tickets for this game before Saturday but have also asked to me to announce that you can buy Palace tickets on Saturday prior to the Pompey game.

With regards to the dilemma of the stadium expansion, I am led to believe that the 60,000 footprint can be realised simply by allowing more walkways at the back of the ninian stand. Furthermore, Sloper Road and additional approach roads would be closed to traffic for up to to an hour before and after kick off.
There may also be a lower safety certificate for night games. Nothing new there, as Wembley used to be limited to 92,000 for night games due to similar issues.
That said, I am led to believe that a 37,000 capacity requires only minor adjustments at the time of writing.

However if on the off chance we ever became big enough to fill a 60,000 seater, we would also be powerful enough within the City of Cardiff to get ANYTHING passed through the council.

Hi Carl,
The stuff about the new director is very similar to what was on walesonline earlier. Are you Terry Phillips in disguise.![]()
And I had a couple of points on this - U-Jiun left in August, so the new guy is a bit late as a replacement, particularly as Mike Hall has also been added.
Also PMG are only owed about £3m max now, so that debt is not much of a big deal now. The Langston one IS, and once its sorted I'll be having a few pints to celebrate![]()
Finally about the capacity. We'll never need a 60k stadium, maybe if we become a real top club 45000, but the 60k thing is a dream. If we were ever big enough to jusitify it then the Sand martin and Travel-lodge could be moved, but The Universe Ultimate league is still some time away

I was told by someone that the stadium capacity can be extended quite easily, and a further 8 rows of seats can be added around to the current capacity with ease.
