Question regarding new players

Sat Jan 14, 2012 8:41 pm

I've only got one question really but it's been bugging me for some time.

It may well be that there are feverish dealings and negotiations going on behind the scenes with numerous clubs regarding new players but on the face of it, and from Malky's own words it would seem as if there are no signings imminent.

Malky himself has said on more than one occasion that we need new players and it's been obvious to most supporters that the team has needed new blood for some time now, if only to enable us to rest players and freshen things up.

So my question basically is this -

Is the reason that we have seen no new players arrive since the start of the season,

1. Because Malky has not found anyone who fits in with his plans, who is better than we have or who is willing to come here?
2. Because the financial restraints at the club mean that the money is not being made available?
3. A bit of both?

I personally feel it's mostly number 3 but it will be frustrating in the extreme if we begin to fall away now as a result of injuries and suspensions when a relatively small investment in 2 or 3 new players could make all the difference.

There are no imminent signings (not in the next 3-4 days anyhow), Malky has targets but must wait for these players to become available from Prem League teams when they have brought in their players.
