Sam,
Yes, Our offer is £500,000 now, they want £1 mill, unless they become desperate and drop their price, cant see it happening as we wont spend anymore, unless we make Wembley.

But didn't the player himself say he was aware of cardiff's interest on his twitter account? Went on to say he didn't believe he would be leaving in January

Would probably get him for £750k and a promotion bonus of £500k. Shame cos he would definitely improve our chances of going up by 30%. Kebe for another £1m plus a good CF would seal the deal for the Prem dream. Our rivals will no doubt invest so if we don't it would take a real miracle to make the top two........the rest is just a lottery.

At the start of the month I was hoping we would see 3 or 4 quality new players arrive.

Now I'd be happy with 1 or 2 quality players!

(I'm not counting Elliot Parish)

Malky is the man though! :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

So Templeton was never on, or we we're never going to meet their valuation for him? If it's the later and we can't offer enough to buy a player from a club whose got f**k all for money, how are we supposed to bring in anybody who is remotely capable of pushing for a first team place.

I have to admit, after offering half of what Brighton want for Noone (40% at first) I've lost faith that we will be able to bring in any players this transfer window. If Brighton want a million for Noone, maybe they'll take 500,000...oops. Well, maybe 550,000 and a packet of crisps? Throw in a Lion bar? Perhaps a pint of Brains? Maybe that'll do it. Not quite.

Even with the prospect of making it to Wembley is it really realistic to bring in somebody? I'm not disagreeing with the way the club is being run (I actually like how things are going) but I feel our hopes have been built up with all the talk of the need for and possibility of bringing in players. I know the talk is that it was always going to be at the end of the window if we brought players in but are we searching for the golden fleece of transfers (instant impact players who walk straight into the first team, aren't piss heads/compulsive gamblers, hard working, and by the way cost us 500,000 or less)?

Malky's transfer policy of getting the right players (motivated, professional, hard workers who fit in his system) for bargain prices has worked for us thus far and the squad is really taking care of things on the pitch. It's great to bring in the Cowies, Gunnarssons, and Turners of the world but how many of those types of guys are out there? Impact players who we can pick up on the cheap are few and far between and certainly not often bought during the January window with its inflated prices.

The types of players, and the prices we seem to be willing to pay limit us to signing players on frees or little money (see Mason, Gunnarrsson, Conway, Cowie). The other type of players we can sign are either from far flung places (Kiss), totally under the radar (Gestede), or are stuck in a bad situation (Miller).

Hopefully we can just keep it together and keep the squad out of the phisio's room and shock the world by going up. However it works out, it's going to be one hell of a ride the rest of the season. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

or do you mean if we don't have to overpay; the down fall of previous Chairmen?

How many people on here would have been happy if we offered £1,000,000 for Noone 2 weeks ago, a player very few of us knew much about.

Onwards and Updards (and I don't mean the debt!) :ayatollah:

Hey expectation was mid table - we are in semi and also in play off over my expectations anyway.

Just because weve been in play off finals fa cup final in past this is new era - we will still be there if we keep all our players and no injuries BUT thats why we lost semi last season , cant predict anything

Keep the faith - When will the Sam debt be sorted - this is keeping is back

Costs and budgets at the club have to be strictly managed, and certain players have to leave in order to facilitate new ones.
Another thing to remember is Dave Jones,,,i believe he's still on the wage roll, until May at least, and that's a huge cost in its self.
