Most significant Trouble?

Fri Jan 13, 2012 10:17 pm

Forgive me for reminiscing times gone by, but reading Annis' books I have a question:
What in your opinions was the biggest / maddest / worst / best trouble we've had?
More recently Stoke Wolves Chelsea?
Older days United Chelsea Boro at home?
Which do you feel was the most significant?
Again not looking to glorify but reminisce times gone by, they happened rightly or wrongly!

Mine was Iraq 1991....really kicked off that day and went on for a few days after too! :ayatollah:
They were throwing loads of shit at us and brought some serious numbers....but we were too well tooled up and eventually beat them in to a retreat! ;)

I was thinking that but a few issues since that, I personally feel Chelsea recently has put the end to it.

Swansea FA cup '91, if they'd've had CCTV down the Kingsway like at Stoke/Chelsea back then...

What ever anyone says, it did happen and its now history, but like anything in the past it will be talked about by many generations to come.

Westham away in the late 70's.
Chelsea at home in the late 70's.
Boro at home in the Facup in the 90's.
Man Utd at home in the 70's.
Swansea away in the 80's.
Bristol C away in the 80's.
Hereford away in the Welsh Cup semi-final.

Very true, only seen the one bit of footage from that.

Annis I thought most of them were spot on, but you always trump it with Hereford! Top man

Stoke was virtually the end of it,even though Chelsea away showed it is still there deep down.

Hereford away was more than just a fight or a smashed up pub, it was like anarchy.

Personally I don't think Stoke can be included in this as no one fought each other, just skirmishes with Police.

True, but the trouble at Wolves was after the police had pushed Cardiff fans to far and Wolves had started it. Spurs was a massive game and as you know, Cardiff still had hundreds of Valleys going thanks to the Valley Rams and all them together made one hell of a mob/army, how ever you would like to describe them.

Stoke, got rid of a lot of areas that followed Cardiff.

Cardiff are not like other teams fans, as if you banned 30 or 40 of them, thats the end of them for years. It has taken over 400 Cardiff fans to be banned since the year 2000, to virtually finish them off.

I like the way you say virtually Annis, but your right over the last decade or so the bans have mounted up. Be interesting to see the totals. Is it really 400?

70s was the time for fighting.

There was fighting everywhere in the 70s not only at football.

The 70s was a mental decade alltogether.

Bombings, Strikes, Fighting at Football, Nighhtclubs, Pubs, supermarkets, playground fights, bonfire night fights, fights in the station between different areas, fights for fecking anything.

Nobody phoned the police and the winner was allowed back in the pub/club

Man Utd was the only one really.

We could have had a couple of real good rows with the jacks but they bottled it on the pitch at ours and on the pitch at theirs.

The pictures and film are there to prove it:old:

We can all go on about mil wall and west ham, Wales v Scotland at anfield, but nothing was like the manure game, Cardiff would have beaten the Russian army that day. Stoke, Swansea etc., they did not hang around to find out what was gOing to happen  :ayatollah:

I think Millwall hold that title from way, way back before the World Wars

It's believed that Skinhead youth culture in the 60's was the begining of widespread Football related violence and i believe that
