Are we missing our window to the prem?

Fri Jan 13, 2012 3:03 pm

Its beginning to look like we might possibly have no signings in the transfer window.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/16547288.stm?

If this is going to be the case the big question is do we have enough depth to go up? With the prospect of injuries and other clubs surging forward Its obviously a lottery, but how likely is it to work out? What do you think our chances are of getting promoted with no new players coming in? Perhaps you could rate them out of ten.

1. No chance.
2. Fat chance.
3. Ghost of a chance.
4. slight chance.
5. Half a chance.
6. Good outside bet.
7. Could win the play-offs.
8. Should win the play-offs.
9. Could get automatic.
10. Should get automatic.

It would be interesting to see what people think.

I'm going to say were sitting on a 7 with no more new blood. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

we need just one or two mor eplayers to turn ou draws into wins and cover our injuries.

I think we possibly are.

Last few seasons we aimed for it and went for broke but a) werent quite good enough and b) hadn't built a proper squad/team ethic for prem survival.

From a crazy squad starting point in august-our manager has got a team together that has made us all proud -plus we are i feel more understanding as supporters on living within our means and building a club and bringing on youth etc.
This season - with Malky its fallen into our lap - none of us really expected anything yet we are in a really fantastic position.

Now football is a mad game - and i am not wishing to be reckless with money - but could this really be our season and 1, 2 or 3 bodies coming in either with quality and/or pace width and power we actually do it.

i know its early in MMs squad revolution but we have maybe 4 or 5 young talent in and around the first team with 3 potential good young guys getting valuable loan experience. A bit of quality to stoke the engine and bring these yound on and way hey!!!!
COULD WE BE READY..............................................

6 with no signings, 8-9 even if we get a winger or striker!

Well Carl has stated several times the last two weeks will be the busiest regarding transfer movent, and this has been backed up by quotes from the Gaffer himself.
It's obvious we are not in a position to offer Brighton £1m for Craig Noone and a recent revaluation indicated that we are not and have never been in the market for David Templeton(of which I think if we had tabled between £400-600k we would of got him,his rated value is a lot higher but Hearts are Desperate for cash as Vladimir Romanov has all but stopped funding the club.)
That aside i think an honest ranking would be 5 (50/50) .
We couldt expect MM and the boys to keep going at this pace till May with the thread bearings he's got.
It's is a chance at an open window but it's not the only window.
The last thing we want to do is go for broke and end up bust...
Remember Preston from a few years back, they went for it and we're beaten in playoff for a few years running and now look at them.

Whatever happens it won't be without drama or some sort of scandal after all we are Cardiff City. :ayatollah:
