As i guess most people on here know,i haven't bought into the Malky revolution i still have a number of concerns about his overall ability, for the sake of brevity i will only address one concern i have and this his ability in the transfer market which might sound odd when you consider Malky brining in ten players before the season started, but i ask you to consider honestly and without thinking with your heart, how many of those signings with the exceptions of Miller and Mason are proving to be excellent additions to our squad? also its been reported that Malky is waiting for the premiere clubs to finalize their 25 man squads before he acts in this present window of opportunity, which suggests to me he has not identified his targets yet, which if true is troubling also only offering 400k for Noone was a stupid and unnecessary derisory bid which we all knew would be dismissed out of hand by Brighton if you want to test the water, and i speak as someone who has bought 8 properties you make an initial offer below the market price but with a 30% chance of acceptance, in conclusion is Malky still thinking Watford with their limited ambition or City with their huge ambition?,i know i will get much criticism for this posting but i honestly want to be proven wrong about Malky

i think cowie gunnarson turner and taylor have been excellent signings so far i agree with the small bid for noone but if you dont ask you dont get so worth a shot i thought maybe 1 mill will get him

Success from the summer
Taylor - Massive success
Turner - Success
Gunarrsson - Total Success
Mason - Success
Miller - Success
Cowie - Success
Kiss still young and has been an excellent squad addition
Conway I like and has contributed very well
Rudy was a gamble but useful and raw
Earnie - A mistake - but the only one IMO

Definite upgrades to squad: Turner, Gunnarson, Cowie, Taylor, Miller, Mason
Not Sure: Rudy, Conway - Far too early to tell
Not sure if Ralls was one of his.
Looks like he is a tight jock who doesn't want to pay over the odds..

if you dont think gunnarsson has been a success you dont attend many games!

Malky knew the score when he joined us. The Chairman sold him the dream hence the reason he left Watford. If you remember they have limited funds so why uproot your family and move to Cardiff?
Vincent Tan has promised MM something what wedon't yet know? If the Langston debt can be sorted I'm sure significant team building can take place but until then we all have to be patient and trust the board and Malky will deliverthe dream we are all wishing for.

Regarding the pecieved low offer, I dont think we should read much into it. All negotiations are not what they sometimes appear to be and this MIGHT just be the case here. Just cause Noone has been mentioned it doesnt mean that he is our first choice. As we should know after witnessing the summer transfers, Malky likes to play his cards close to his chest....even throwing the occasional curve ball(Goodwilly/Miller). At the moment im all for just letting our manager do his job his way, especially as he hasnt really slipped up so far and because of him we are benefiting as a club.

for the 2nd time tonight i agree
but
I wouldnt even class Earnie as a mistake as such. He hasnt fitted into Malkys formation, and its neither Malky or Earnie's fault that Miller has been superb as a loan striker. I wouldnt be suprised if Earnie joined another club this month where they played 4-4-2 and banged in 12 goals.
Would people then say Malky made a mistake in releasing him?
Thu Jan 12, 2012 11:23 pm
Then the mistake would be not using him when he had him.
He hasn't even been on the bench for a number of games so makes me think he just isn't in his plans.

I believe Malky is def restricted by not enough money being made available to him.

I think you could safely say that this applies to 80-90% of managers in the Premiership, Championship & League 1 & 2.
We have some funds to play with, but not much. Malky faces a dilemma. Does he splash big on one player or maybe two, or does he try and squeeze out some excellent deals for 3-4 players that he strongly believes will do a good job for us. Either way, I doubt we will ever see him bringing the sh*te that DJ used to bring in at the end of each transfer window.
I'd rather Malkies prudent and diligent approach than DJ's lazy, (take a gamble and sod the consequences) recruitment policy.
If Carl is to be believed, the club is still being heavily subsidised by the Malaysians, so this would clearly suggest, that for now at least, our revenue does not cover our outgoings. Cleary, a prudent approach is wise.

It's not getting rid of the dead wood that I think may be the biggest problem. Easily 60k a week on players that are not wanted.
