" DAVE JONES AND TERRY BURTON "

Terry Burton gets the first job he applies for, assistant managers job at Premiership WBA. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Dave Jones applies for 5 different Championship jobs, fails to get any of them and ends up a sky pundit, you usually get that job when your washed up.

Number 2 jobs seem easy to come by. Even Alan Cork and Lennie are in work.

Tbh I never expected DJ to get work until next season. He is getting paid to do nothing and now getting extra for sky work, ideal for him.

Has he failed to get the jobs or did the salaries not make it worth his while.

Be honest if you were getting a chunk for doing nothing would you take a job if it meant you were paid less. He's only gonna take a job if it pays more than what he losses from us.

There's loads of managers out of work, loads of older players waiting on the wings to become managers, loads of back room staff waiting on the wings to become managers and even managers at other clubs that teams may try to poach. It's not easy to get a managerial post.

I watched most the Leeds game the other day and wondered what ever happened to O'Leary??
Did he go anywhere after Leeds?
Or is he just living off Ridsdales mistakes??

O Leary was at villa for a few years, then went to a UAE club and got sacked last year.

Of course he was. Guess he is just searching the money now. Can't blame a man for that.

And Dave Jones allegedly has been too busy taking in his new favourite sport Netball hasn't he to worry about new jobs. Maybe he can have a new career in netball management. :D

Is progression year after year failure? When he took over he had fewer players than MM and everything being sold. Progression is a word I would use to describe his time here, followers by bottler

I'd agree with that, in my eyes his only real bad season was last season and that was more due to the sky high expectations. Plenty of other clubs would love to have finished 4th.

Its easy to slag the ex manager off for the PLAYERS bottling and messing up the game, jones did one hell of a job here and people forget that, when we got to FA cup play off final he was god but once the PLAYERS fucked up and broke rules he gets the blame, that's way it goes for some fans but some fans genuinely thank dave jones for what he did for us and I won't slag him off one bit, would like to see him back in management soon good luck davey jones

He did alot for us Forever Blue :ayatollah: One of our most successful managers of all time regardless of how many times the squad bottled it

Yea he also had the highest wage bill /money availible to him in are history over the 6 years he was here while teams with half are budget/players turned us over and finished above us no1 remembers a maybe or a 2nd prize man its a known fact DJ will always be a failed manager because he can not control players or the media and what fans want to hear,He won nothing here and will win nothing elsewhere weather he had billions to spend he will always fail @ the last hurdle :ayatollah:

Bullocks the players are grown men, they should not need babysitting if you aint got faith in your players to be responsible for themmselfs managers are not babysitters, and so what with the wage budget he had it was still the players who fucked up not dave jones he don't play the football on the pitch and he didn't fall over last hurdle when he got wolves promoted and no1 rememberd 2nd place but he took us to the highest finish season after season after season and when he started he had to deal with all the bullshit all debt everything and he did a fantastic job, but end of the day fans can be your best friend or your worst enemy maybe most fans got to much expectations

When he was at Wolves they were 11 points clear at the top in the new year, What happened they went on a disastrous run like he did here and they bottled it. He is now history and his methods are out of date.Move on and support Malky. :ayatollah:

I wont go down this route again, DJ as far as I am concerned is a bottler/pig headed/arrogant and could not stand Cardiff fans all facts.

Dave Jones did his best to disconnect the club and players from the fans. Regardless of whatever he did or didn't achieve on the pitch I will never respect him after the way he treated the fans and certain players...

I was in the vale once and he was chatting to some guy (perhaps an agent) and I overheard him say "you know what they are like down this way" with as much disdain as I have ever heard.

Much less successful managers have left (sacked) with better reputations. That tells you something about Jones and his relationship with the fans.

Plus the liberties that he and Ridsdale took while at the club were just awful. Ask the kitchen staff. Stock takes now are much more accurate then when Jones was around!!!!
