The English don't want them now they've used all their gas and oil, they wouldn't have entertained this in the 70s. :old:

Look, I'm all for independence for Scotland and Wales but I'm not aware of the facts enough to make an informed decision about whether it would be positive or negative for either country.

However, videos like this really irritate me with their political bias. One thing that stood out for me was where it said about a lie being that the North Sea oil supplies are set to run out soon and then said "oil will come from the North Sea until roughly 2040"...

Then what? 28 years isn't actually that long so it's not a lie. Which begs the question, how much of the video is actually genuine truth and not statistics that have been distorted to suit the argument for independence? Politics is largely bull shit.

feck the jocks anyway!

Wasn't it them who teamed up with the English and carved up Wales between them?

Loudon, Bute and the cnut who started Cardiff City FC.

Far too early to say, once the SNP come up with something concrete on paper we can consider it but for now there are too many questions to be answered.

Irrelevant. Without permission from Westminster, it'll be nothing more than an expensive opinion poll with no legal standing.

I think the vote will happen, but not until 2014 The Tories want it the year before because it suits them with so many unanswered questions at present. The SNP have a mandate from the people of Scotland, will be interesting to see how they proceed with it. They've still to convince me.

No sillier than the Celtic fans who wave Eire flags. Most of them couldn't point to Partick on a map never mind Dublin.

I think it's dangerous doing these polls while the Tories are in power in Westminster, they've never been popular in Scotland and it could make a serious impact on how people vote.

And again, under existing legislation, irrelevant. I get the feeling that many will vote against as all the SNp generally has is rhetoric.

iv heard the snp saying an independant scotland as a part of europe.what happens if/when europe goes belly up?its already it bit bozz eyed to say the least.if i were a scot id look at eire.pumped full of euro coin but struggling like mad now.if any nation wants to go then so be it but i would say to think very, very hard about it.truth is most people in glasgow have more in common with english and welsh people from industralised areas than they do with a farmer from the highlands.when push comes to shove i will suggest a no vote will be the order of the day

Salmond is full of great ideas.....and little to back them up with. However he seems to have something that people relate to, his return to the SNP coincided with the party surging again.
