Fred Keenor Appeal Suggestion

Tue Jan 10, 2012 7:31 am

Just had a thought this morning, if we did get to Wembley and the reason I am saying if is because I dont want to tempt fate but surely Vince could negotiate with the club for a compulsory one pound extra on every ticket purchased.

WIth an allocation in the region of somewhere between thirty to thirty five thousand this would more than trigger the bonus payment from the council and almost see us over the line and what better way of raising the money on the back of another trip to Wembley and the place we won the FA Cup in 1927 and the purpose of the the statue campaign.

I am sure alll fans would be happy on the back of a feel good factor

Any thoughts ??

(THIS BIT BELOW PINCHED FROM OTHER LINK AND OTHER POSTER BUT CANT REMEMBER WHO SORRY)

Let's remember why we're doing this:
* To create awareness of and recognise Fred Keenor's mammoth efforts for both Cardiff City FC and Wales
* To add a unique focal and tangible addition to our stadium
* To commemmorate the 1927 FA Cup winning squad as a whole
* Perhaps even to create a valuable meeting place for City fans before the match ("meet you at the statue at 2pm"!)
* Add something that we can tell our kids about as they start to support the club

Dobbins good idea.

To be honest Carl and I have been talking about this appeal for weeks and we have come up with plenty of ideas.

If Newport County fans can raise £13,000 in 4 weeks, Surely we could raise the £20,700 needed for the final total by the end of the season. Newport fans work together and that goes along way before you even get started. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I have always been a fan of route one football and sometimes in life route one can also be the best way forward.

Put up an appeal at the top of the board and ask every member to donate £5 or £10. As a reward give them an avatar with a picture of the FK statue with 'I've donated to the AAMB Fred Keenor Appeal' written underneath and their username on top.

The idea would be to see pages and pages of AAMB Avatars splashed all over the place :D and of course raise a sigificant amount of money without too much effort.

PS As I'm from Newport I must know a thing or two about fund raising

Maybe more people could buy James Leighton's Fred Keenor book with money from the sales going to the fund just like the did with Phil Dwyer's book ? :ayatollah: :D :ayatollah:
