You were all wrong!

Evening Rabble,
One of the few benefits of being older is being a bloody know all. I am president of that club and I'll begin by telling you that the Leeds game didn't have the best ever atmosphere. I was there in 1947 when we played Bury in a 2nd Div game on boxing day when the lads were home from the war, a progressive Labour Government was in power and stirring things up and the future looked bright.

From an hour before the kick off the huge crowd sand with a skill and fervour that put the Arms Park to shame and it just got louder and more intense after the Kick off. In the Grange end the boards were bouncing and thudding with stamping feet and my head was buzzing. In spite of this City were terrible and Bury ran rings around us to go in 2-0 up at half time.

When they re-appeared the roaring singing crowd reached a hypnotic crescendo unlike anything I've heard before or since and the off form City players fought tooth and nail for the snarling crowd until we got the ball in the net--- 1--2.

There were minutes left when Gibson threw himself at a bouncing ball some five yards out and smashed it in for the equalizer! The stadium achieved lift off and the old stands groaned and rattled above the ranting crowd. You all should have been there ---- where were you?
