Joe Mason sneaking in under the radar!!!

Mon Jan 09, 2012 7:26 pm

Are we in possession of a talent every bit as promising as Jordan Rhodes??

Joe is playing at a higher level and has now scored six goals in the
last 13 games having only started five times.

Its ONLY just dawned on me

He's a year younger than Rhodes who had played a dozen games for Ipswich
before getting farmed out to the lower leagues.

What kind of impact would Joe have in League One if he dropped down right
now after having had Championship experience??

I think he'd smash teams to pieces.

Away from Cardiff City I bet hardly any other supporters have even heard of him yet

Do we actually need another 'goalscorer'??

he does the job...

then again it sometimes comes down to goal scoring instinct . theirs finishers in every league and even league 2 players capable of scoring 10-15 in championship going on run of luck.
i dont think he would score many more in league 1

He never scored in his first ten games or so. Perhaps it took him a while
to get used to the pace. He's playing against some very good defenders
in this division, yet he is scoring at the rate Lambert and co were banging
them in at the start of the season. We got a special lad here i think :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I have been saying this for ages now. Why waste £10k p/w in wages on another striker when we have a diamond in Joe Mason?

All Malky has to do is hold his nerve and trust the lad who can only benefit from the experience he will gain playing along side Kenny Miller.

Agree 100%. Some say he's not the fastest? Well he dont look like no slouch
to me. But with the best of strikers, the first 5 yards is in the head. He's
got it all going on upstairs :ayatollah:

Yea I'm baffled by the lack of pace theory but fully agree the boy is an intelligent player.

I have a mate who's an Argyle fan, and when we bought him he was gutted. He said you've got a right gem there. From the first time I saw him preseason against Celtic he really stood out to me. If he keeps up his form he could well end up going to Euro 2021 with the Republic of Irealnd.
