Warnock is Premier league class. just like Bothroyd

He's a good motivator but that's it.

I said as soon as he was promoted that he would be gone before Christmas.

As usual I was late getting past the post, just like my horses

Warnock is never a premiership manager but I think he would have kept them up.

Mark Hughes is a slight improvement but i don't see what the long term plan is with hughes.

Probably the first post that I'd have to agree with you! :D

I was astounded when Hughes brought on the top goalscorer in all the leagues at the time (Earnie) against Russia and put him in midfield, especially as we were losing! :x :ayatollah:

Mark Hughes almost destroyed Wales  it took a stubborn toshack to get us back on track and Gary sped rip to bring back the pride.

I tell you what Mark Hughes' sidekicks almost destroyed Wales when they retired soon after Tochack was given the roll or in Savages case go on and and on about not being picked for the national squad. They are the fuckers who almost destroyed Wales.

He grew a national team old together while totally ignoring the u21's and ultimately failed massively.

That sub by Hughes during that game was absolutely shocking. Even playing a 4-5-1 formation at home when Russia were there for the taking sums his tacticial mind up.

I agree, but I have to say that we played crap as well though, with only Giggs coming out of the game with any credit IMO!

The rest of the team's first touch was extremely poor and we barely put more than a couple of strings of passes together!

Re: " MARK HUGHES "

Something like that and why I rarely slag off toshack, while a poor tactician he set up Wales for the future. His best move demanding a proper u21 manager of his choice before signing and lets be honest it's been a massive success.

I can count many clubs who have had big money overseas investors come in and get rid of a effective, proven manager. Maybe cos he wasn't a big name internationally for the Malaysian investors new flagship brand, maybe Warnock wasn't very good as the 'schmoozing' that you often had to do in order to build a relationship with the hierarchy...I suspect it was probably both.

Building a successful team and then being told you have to give that up and now let someone else take that team and enjoy it....Id flip! Often spoke highly of Cardiff as a club too which surprised me, so for that im extra gutted for him.

Couple of quick points fellas.

Neil Warnock done absolute wonders for us make no mistake about that, he galvanised our football club whilst it was being run by two f*cking idiots. Got us up on a modest budget playing good football. Now here is the reasons he was sacked & I'm his number 1 fan.

1) 1 home win at home since April 2011

2) Only home win this season was against 9 man Chelsea who could of easily beaten us

3) Playing Shaun Wright Philips a natural right winger on the left hand side every single week so he can play Jamie Mackie who although runs a lot does absolutely f**k all else.

4) Playing 1 up front against the likes of Sunderland, Norwich, West Brom & Blackburn at home where we gained a grand total of 1 point from all them games.

5) Letting certain players make decisions that should only be made by a manager.

6) Warnock at training only 2 days a week, letting Keith Curle & Mick Jones take training which was not appreciated by the players as the training was low intensity all the time & rumours of Curle nursing a hang over most of the week was again frowned upon by the players.

7) Every week Warnock making the same silly mistakes regarding formations & substitutions leading to losses or at best a draw.

Great guy but this is a results based business & i honestly believe with him in charge we would of gone down. Mark Hughes has now got the best part of half a season to turn it around & for some to say he is a shit manager have no clue about football. He got a very average Blackburn into Europe & a top 6 finish in the Premiership, Man City he was very highly respected but was on a hiding to nothing as the owners wanted a big continental name & at Fulham he was given assurances by the owners regarding youth investment & visions for the club which were both not met so he walked & rightly so.

Very happy about this appointment. As much as we loved Warnock he really has not got the nous to manage in the top flight.

Stan, here's my view of it and please feel free to let me know if you think I am way off the mark.

I've always rated Warnock but do think there are more than a couple of dozen managers out there better than him. Saying that, I just don't think he is cut out to manage in the Premiership. He did do a good job for you lads last year but he's appeared quite clueless at Premiership level once again.

Saying that, I just get the impression he hasn't really been that fucked this year. I don't know whether this is anything to do with the owners but he's acted like a man who had already lost his job. The Neil Warnock we saw last year isn't the same one we've seen this year and I can't help but think that he's lost his enthusiasm and motivation for the job because he knew the owners were looking to replace him.

You are spot on mate. It was very clear this was Warnock's last waltz & it was starting to grate on the fans. Outplayed in games & he's cooing about how great Suarez looks or how good Rooney's movement is, yes fair enough but doing it every single week & totally disregarding our own shit performance was getting very annoying. You are right he has lost that fire in his belly & he really was out of his depth in the Premier League. Certain games where would be on top the opposition would change somethin for the better & we would stay exactly the same & lose he just wasn't clued up enough at the top level.

Top top championship manager but a level above that you need a lot lot more.

Re: " MARK HUGHES "

If you'd have seen him on the sidelines at swansea then you'd maybe change your mind about him not being 'fucked'.

My take is he's simply taken them as far as he could. All said i thought QPR were the best side to visit the Liberty this season.

I think he'll go to Coventry now and turn them around.

Re: " MARK HUGHES "

Just to let you know mate I haven't missed a single game this season home or away so am fully aware of him jumping up & down on the sidelines & berating linesman.

The thing is in the Premier League you need a little bit more than just jumping up & down. You need tactical awareness, better player man management, a knack of knowing when to make substitutions & that they are the right ones & unfortunately Warnock failed on most counts.

I don't see Brendan Rodgers or Paul Lambert constantly hammering the fourth officials yet they have arguably weaker squads than us. What does that tell you?

Sorry,i should have quoted Zabier.

Stan,i think Barton and Hughes could be an interesting one.Two different fellas you couldn't put together.I've been keeping tabs on Josephs Twitter and he's yet to comment unlike most of the other QPR lads.Didnt he let him go at City?

Brenda might be a bit more diplomatic than Warnock but he likes to play the blame game dont you worry.

Hes from the DJ school of never doing anything wrong personally.

A lot of good points by you today, Stan.

My view of Warnock - and probably those of a lot of other posters on here - is a positive one, mostly due to his public persona. If we'd had him as manager, as you have, with such a poor results record this season, then we'd be calling for his head by now, no doubt about that.

As for Hughes, I worshipped him as a player. My wife bought me tickets for Chelsea v Arsenal for my 30th birthday, so I could go and see him play. It was 1-0 to Chelsea that day and he scored the only goal - great day out.

Hughes as a manager failed us badly for Wales, not least his negative approach to the 2nd leg of the play-offs v Russia when it was crying out for a 4-4-2 with Earnie up front.

I appreciate what you've said about his club record, but I don't think he'll do well for QPR. If I'm wrong, happy days as far as you're concerned, but I think he's a bit of a Dave Jones - no Plan B.

Re: " MARK HUGHES "

Tue Jan 10, 2012 12:36 pm

I think he'll do really well. It's not just Hughes that will be going there.Mark Bowen Eddie.N and Kevin Hitchcock make for an excellent backroom team. His managerial career has been vastly underrated too imo.His dealings in the transfer market are very good also.He signed most of the City side that plays now and he also bought Samba and turned Bentley into an excellent player.Dembele for Fulham another excellent example. As a Jack i'd have rathered Colin stay.

couldn't agree more with your opinion on hughes stan, i dont get the slating he recieves on here. maybe he was a little naive with wales at times but that was his 1st managerial position, and he did ultimately get us one game away from qualification

I like Mark Hughes, he is / was one of my heros, but I hope he fails miserably with this one.

Cant stand QPR, even more so now this Media junkie is in charge of them.
