Try Amazon.co.uk, ebuyer.com or dabs.com, unless you need it urgently Baz!

Will probably be more expensive than the sites I've listed, but possibly more convenient!

Try
http://www.ebuyer.com/search?page=1&sor ... 33&cat=393You can get a 1Tb or 2 Tb drive for not much more than a 500Gb.
To futureproof for faster Xfer speeds get a USB3 drive. You have probably only got USB2 on your PC now, but your next PC will have USB3.
There is a bit of a world shortage of hard drives due to the problems in Japan, and flooding in Thaiiland.

Maplin is where I get mine from Baz, always got a deal on. The last one I bought was a 2TB and I think it was around the £100 mark but that was 2 yrs ago.

Got to be careful with the prices Baz as the floods in Thailand and problems in Japan mean prices have shot up for hardware like HDD's.

Most units above 500gb may come with an adaptor for external power because of the size of the disc and internal fan (if installed) sometimes it is not compatible to drain the power it needs through a USB Port....

Look for a PORTABLE hard drive then, don't get an EXTERNAL one - Although some portable hard drives are listed as external hard drives, make sure the description has PORTABLE somewhere (and doesn't contain a power source of course!)
