absolutely bouncing on the bob bank that day

And in typical City style, Blake was gone soon after.
Whoever has only seen the Leeds cup game and thought atmosphere couldn't get any better, think again, this game was amazing.

lots of people seem to forget this game.
It was the best atmosphere in years at ninian park i have the full game on dvd and the atmosphere that day was better than the leeds game and other big games

My favourite Cardiff City match bar none.
Was in the Canton behind the corner of the goal where Blake scored, what a goal. The atmosphere that day was incredible.

I was fortunate to be at both games and i will say the Leeds game is still the best atmosphere at Ninian Park,That day we made it so hostile the Leeds players actually shat themselves.Lee Bowyer was too scared to go near the touchline on the bobbank side

think we lost to luton next round when Hartson played for them ??????
Sun Jan 08, 2012 10:48 pm
Yeah with the first ever playing of the "not interfering with play" rule for offside. David Preece ran through to score when Ceri Williams was about 20 yards off.
One of the best games (Man City) followed by one of the worst!
Boro away in round 4 was immense too. The away game was superb!

Think the city game just shades it for me.

City was amazing. Leeds just shades it for me because Man City
were struggling a bit at that time whereas Leeds were top of the pops!

Was at both and there was nothing like the Leeds game. With it being dirty Leeds and them being top of the prem at the time. MCity was great mind.....remember being in the bob bank and getting this fat MCity supporter in a white jumper chucked out. Gave him a load of shit...as soon as he retaliated with a few hand gestures he was chucked straight out for inciting

Both games will never be forgotten

I was absolutely sh!t on for the Man City game, I was only a little boy back then and my dad took me to every home league and cup game that season, apart from the Man City game because the tickets went on sale on the Sunday morning which was when I had football. By the time my football had finished and my dad rushed us both down to get tickets, they had all already gone. So much for looking after your loyal fans back then.

As you say back in those days when we were in the doldrums, drawing any Premiership team in the cup was unmissable. Part of me misses those days, it was achievement back then for us to make the 3rd round of the FA Cup and I remember sitting in front of the TV numerous times watching the live draw hoping we would draw a big side. It just goes to show how far we have come over the years.
These days it's the exact opposite for me as instead of hoping we draw a big team, I would prefer to draw lower league minnows away from home so I can visit a new ground. I also miss the smaller grounds, I was sad Scunthorpe got relegated for instance as they have a small, old fashioned stadium where you're right up against the pitch and the majority of lower league grounds are like that. Grounds like these always tend to create a much better atmosphere as well.
