Quick summary of my day. Meet forum bus at frankley services. I spoke to a few of the coppers who were actually very friendly in comparison to most of their colleagues that i have met in wolves and coventry in past. Watched West Mercia old bill close M5 to let ccfc buses onto road. Our bus then had same treatment with god knows how many bikes and cars escorting us to ground. They stopped traffic and let us through red lights etc. God knows how much it cost the tax payer.
Got to ground. Wanted a pint but they weren't serving alcohol. They'd ran out of burgers as well. Not happy.
The game-really exciting. Not best quality but given huge changes in both teams the players did well. CCFC fans sang for 90 minutes and completely drowned out the brummies droanes. WBA 1st goal looked yards offside-gerrard could have cleared ball but left it thinking Heaton would get it. CCFC players went nuts but Mr Probert gave goal (He was one who sent off purse and comminges off at qpr a few yrs ago). Not long after a wba player fell over the ball and a fk was given on wba right hand side. They took kick quickly but mr probert wasn't happy so booked baggies player and ordered a retake from which an unmarked cox scored. About 10 minutes before ht ccfc hit back through a tap in from Earnie who celebrated with a somersault. HT came and wba returned onto pitch as did officials. a good 3 minutes passed b4 we returned to the pitch. WBA fans were booing cue ccfc chants of we'll do what we want.......
Not long after ht we equalised with a well taken goal from super Joe who had come on for Rudy in 1st half.
WBA made a double sub and that really changed the game. Cox scored a superb 3rd. We had a few half chances (Gerrard missed free header) but so did WBA who missed 2 sitters. Cox completed his hat trick late on to seal victory.
Overall i thought we played quite well.
Heaton had a great game, Quinn was poor. Mason looks the real deal. It was good to see Theo Wharton make his debut-he didn't do an awful lot but hopefully he will develop into another top player. Earnie apart from his goal was average-his movement off the ball is poor and he doesn't work hard enough. At the end it looked like he was saying goodbye as he stayed out for a long time with the fans-if you are going Earnie-good luck and thanks.
The journey out of west brom was like journey in-police everywhere until m5. Got dropped off at Frankley and made journey home.
