Thats some atmosphere, I wouldn't get too bogged down with the drum. What will happen is it will probably encourage fans to get behind the team and you'll hear less of it.

Thats exactly the way i'm thinking - the Drum is just a kick start as fans from the old ground find their feet in the new stadium :ayatollah:

There have been plenty of instances where there's been a good atmosphere.

There have been many instances where the crowd has been so apathetic it's been dead.

Those good atmosphere's didn't require a f*cking drum. It just shows our "vocal" crowd are only really vocal if it's a big game or interesting events are happening on the pitch.

That was a good article and that Video is the Cardiff City fans i know and love. And yes i was in that crowd and it was awsome. The article was good apart from the fact when he says he is in the canton just above Dai Hunt. Dai Hunt sits in the Ninian :ayatollah:

Ahh what I meant was it was the loudest part of the stadium, apart from where Dai sits!

That article is slanted to put it mildly. If you have an agenda against the drum then ok, but to claim most fans feel the same because of a handful of comments you've quoted is off the mark imo. I think most people recognise the drum clearly helped get the atmosphere going on Monday, in the poll on this forum 76% of people were in favour of the drum. I understand it might be annoying if you sit right next to it though.

Spot on rob.. I was at reading and it was amazing without the drum, but that's because there were nearly 4000 of us who all love to chant which is why away games are more fun at times, reality is the atmosphere at ccs isn't great (apart from the odd big game), the drum got us all going at times and made the chants continue longer too, there were loads around me in 104 who never really sing during game and they joined in a lot more because of the drum, maybe put the drum in a different place every game?? 80% of this forum ain't wrong.. :old: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

As I'm in the Family Stand, I'm not in a position to comment. But from past experience I've seen a drum/band used with great results, in Rugby League (SouthStand @ Headingley/Leeds Rhinos). A set tradition, can't say what (if any) fuss was made when 1st introduced. Main difference, drum in the crowd & all standing!
