Really sorry to hear, unless you have had a best friend like your dog its very hard for some people to understand how you feel.
RIP Murphy a mans best friend. :ayatollah:

I have had five dogs throughout my life and had to have three of them put down through old age (two Boxers and a Welsh Springer) and one of them (a white Boxer) died in my arms. I still have a King Charles spaniel at the moment. Each and every one of them have been a big part of the family. Every time I have lost one in the past I have said no more, that's it, I don't want to go through that again. (when the dogs have been put down I have always been with them) But reality sets in and I doubt I could be without a dog. They are hard work to look after and demand attention, and not to mention vets bills.
But I have some great memories of them all and glad they were part of my life and family.

Gutted for you today fella, but you'll never forget him.

Thats all that matters mate, ive kept dogs all my life and currently have 4, 3 spaniels and a german shepherd, and i dread the day when any of them is called to that big kennel in the sky.

RIP Murphy.

Really feel for you mate. Dogs are part of the family and putting a dog down is a horrible thing but it has to be done. RIP Murphy.

The wife and me have always had cats (we're not home that often through work) and in the last 10 years we've lost 7, of those 6 through illness and old age and 1 was virtually kicked to death by some arsewipes, she struggled home with her eye badly damaged and her jaw broken and the fur and skin hanging off her lower jaw, unfortunately she had to be put down. We now have 2 who can't stand each other but both totally happy and healthy but I know that the time will come when they will leave us, it's very sad but while they're here they give us so much love and the house wouldn't be the same without them.

Sorry to hear the sad news.

Unless someone has experienced losing the family dog for themselves it's very difficult for them to understand. I had my dog put to sleep a few years ago (15yrs old) and it isn't an experience I'd wish on anyone. I don't cry about much but I had to pull the car over on the way home to dry my tears.

You'll always miss him but the good memories become the thing you remember fondly, and those memories will eventually bring a smile to your face when you remember him.
