Just a few comments I would like to add.
No I never wrote everything down at the time.I collected every programme and in them days newspaper cuttings which I still had, so dates etc were easy to find when I wrote the book.

As you can see I was honest and right down the middle on Sam.
Also 40% of the book was about my life away from football, just wondered about your comments there ?
Thanks for taking the time to write this review up and posting me one as well.![]()

Annis, You are entirely welcome,
I didn't cover the night club section as I was worried about the length of my piece and being timed out. Strangely enough, back in the fifties I was singing around local clubs and clearing the places rapidly when my closest friend who was broadcasting and on the verge of a career in films and tv drove up from Cardiff to tell me that he and another man were hoping to open a night club in Cardiff and would I be willing to audition for a spot at the proposed club.
Being a realist and a shy valley lad I declined. I might have ruined your father's first venture into the business. Small world!

I was a kind of Bing Crosby pub singer Annis so I didn't go to Cardiff. My mate Mike dropped out of the project a bit later and I didn't get to meet your father so his luck must have been in that day. Anyway, I would probably have borrowed money from him.Cal
