The Drum

Mon Jan 02, 2012 7:25 pm

Whilst i appreciate what Vince does for our club, this is one thing i don't. Not only was the drum very f*cking annoying, it looked liked a very cheap gimmick to have the youngsters (and not so young) standing on some scaffolding. Only men aloud or whatever they are called it wasn't. Granted the Christmas period has just finished but the sight and sound of Vince and his 12 disciples was not a good one.
Please try the drum over by the bob bank/away end... :ayatollah: My opinion folks... :ayatollah:

It's happening everywhere else. It was only a matter of time.

I liked it, people moan about the atmosphere in the ground but then moan when people like vince try to do something about it, it got the canton goin a bit more than usual

If the drum ends up anywhere near me in the new Bob, Heath hospital will have a curious A&E case relating to where a drumstick has been inserted...

Their has been a lot of talk ever since we moved to the CCS about the atmosphere [or lack of it] during our games & the question of drums has been raised on more than one occasion. It was well & truly put too the test today, & i thought it was great. Really helped to "stoke the fire".
Its a step in the right direction, after all, something is better than nothing.

It also shows that fans "ideas" to boost atmosphere are to errm copy cliched ideas other teams fans have used.

Granted it did a little, but you'll never find a post where i have moaned about atmosphere (not even the deleted ones :D )
But there is no need to bang the bloody thing for every song, if the stadium is a bit flat than have a go at it to try and boost the atmosphere. The amount of regulars that moved after 10 -15 minutes was more than enough, okay there was few bank holiday hangovers but a poll or something should have been decided or even previous knowledge as to where this drum was to placed.
I'm all for Vince having a triangle or maybe a tambourine, but i say NO to the drum.
As i stated before also, it looked a gimmick having people stand under the welsh flag on scaffolding to try and get the ground going. Is the atmosphere really that bad that we have turned to this? No is the answer.

No Surrrender
No Surrender
No Surrender to Vince and his drum. Come on Fish you know the tune.... :D :ayatollah:

Well in my opinion the drum was mildly annoying, but the atmosphere was slightly better yesterday, whether that was due to the drum or sublime team performance is debatable.

Can't fault Vince tho, he's taking action to improve an issue we always discuss!

I loved it. Well done Vince. I was however, about 80 yards away fro it so I didn't have it banged in my ear.

This could be the next love / hate thread taking over from the Dave Jones in / Dave Jones out thingy from last season.

Question is, has Vince got a Plan B?

I thought the drum massivl improved the atmosphere, best game all season, there wasnt once a quiet moment in the game, i say keep it, usually you can here the goalkeepers shouting instructions to defenders its that shit

Crap it's not being older, that is the problem it's the contant drumming, ordered by a minority, if we can't generate an atmospere without the poxy drum then it just shows what type of fans we have, copycat fans the drum is a monotinous noise, you are probably the type of person that turns their car stereo up full and open all the windows, no thought for other people
