£3m aint going to make much difference. Better off keeping him and pushing for promotion.

Loads are also changing their mind as they said they would take 1.5 million for him at start of season. Not many rated him then.

There is a big difference between selling and buying.

Buying creates a new debt.

Selling will only help pay old debts -which are pretty much under control now.

Don't forget, we have to pay a % of any transfer income to Ray Ranson's company. So you can forget having £3m to spend if we sell Whitts.

Besides which he's worth much more than £3m.

as i said recently,i havnt rated whitts that highly over the years, but this season he is the best player on the pitch,it would be suicide for us to sell him at this moment in time,we are in the playoffs and looking like a strong team,if he is sold it tells me that the owners have no real commitment here, just my opinion :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Why is he the best player on the pitch? Because he's being managed by somebody who knows how to get players to play to their full potential, Malky stated he's building a team around Whitts and he wants Whitts to expand his game and take more responsibility on the pitch. If the board accept an offer for Whitts then Malky's gonna be banging some tables in the boardroom, if he moves on I'll be very very surprised.

[Quote] "People said they would take 1.5 mill for him at the start of the season"..yes that was the Dave Jones inspired Whitts, the new Malky inspired Whitts is worth at least double that..that's the difference.

Oh please. All this Malky being responsible for Whitts is just bollocks.

He scored 30 odd goals from midfield in Jones last 2 seasons for god sake but no-one wants to give Jones the credit for anything.

What are u on about man?

Haven't we learned from losing Ledley, Mcormack, Mathews and Burke?
We are building a club with a better financial footing. - that encompases youth players plus quality additions in first team so that we have balance and are able to continue to a force (whether we challenge now or next season).

How many players have come through this club the last 7 seasons? We need some continuity. The jacks have done this well (players only went cos THEY wanted to)

When this club has sold players - the money has never been used to build a squad.
Its false economy, especially when we are told we have our debts being managed.

The Dave Jones inspired Whittingham who scored 20 odd goals from left midfield and loads of assists? He is standing out more this year cos we have less stars also producing the goods. DJ does not halve the value of our players. People will find any reason to have a go at him.

Have you thought that selling your best player would have a knock on effect on ST sales.

Considering your form, reduction of wages and an excellent cup run I dont think selling a player who has just signed a contract (?) means a loss. You could sell at a later date.

Just accept it seems your knows what it is doing, I wish ours did.

  Because £3mill is going to get us on top of our debt.

Aside from that, Whittingham is undoubtedly the key player in out team. I think people underestimate his importance in our squad.

Given the fact that in August he signed a 3 year deal with us, I'd take a safe bet that he's happy here.

I have absolutely no doubt that if we sold Whittingham we'd drop dramatically in standard, our results would dip, and even if we brought someone else in to replace him, the time taken to gel with the squad etc. means it would be too late to push for promotion.

Whitts has been our key player for the last 2 seasons on the trot, not many players can claim that.

Not necessarily. Say we sold Whitts but replaced him with an O'Neill or a player who was as good as Koumas in his pomp (unlikely I know). I don't think we would miss a beat really.

Really? I have to disagree. I honestly don't think there is a player in Whittingham's position (that we could afford) that has the influence he has.

And apart from that, what about showing our players loyalty? It's not as if Whittingham is a dead weight now is it. There is NO WAY we should get rid of him.

Cut backs money saving should and I hope would have been done at the start of the season. Debts are debts but they seem for no at least controllable. Selling Witts to pay off some debt it fine but we then need to buy to replace him so it makes little difference. If we are to sell or let key players like him go it has to be in the summer when a suitable replacement can be found.

With regards to Ray Ranson I dont really understand his loan but it doesnt seem the club are in much of a rush to pay it off and would rather keep players

Hello my Forest para pal :D

Let me enlighten you.

Midfield General has an agenda. That agenda is to undermine the Club at every opportunity
but its not his own agenda. Someone else is pulling his strings. He could not hold a reasoned
debate on any of his 'theories'... because he gets them all second hand.

You as an outsider are pretty much on the mark. We'd love to be spending millions on new players
and indeed our new owners are billionaires. But they are building the club from the bottom up in
a sensible way. 18 months ago, we nearly went under. Right now the majority of clubs in this
division would love to see their Club run the way our owners are running Cardiff City. Whitts will
not be sold. We are on course. We dont 'need' the money ;)

Lets put you to bed with a nice hot water bottle eh......

Whittingham will only go if Malky Mackay decides he can do without him.
The evil Malaysians believe in trust. They trust Malky, we trust Malky
and the Malaysians will not betray that trust by selling Whitts from under

Why do you say 'unfortunately' though... you'd be chuffed to monkeys if

Same as you'd be chuffed to monkeys if Vincent Tan walked away in the
