Was always way to old to make a come back.
No manager with any sense would take someone like him in fairness

Leon is at Lido this season now improving his fitness and showing that he is now reliable. Will it now be too late for him to make a football league comeback? Perhaps but the most important thing is he is really enjoying his football and is in a good place. It is very frustrating though as Gus Poyet really rated Leon but felt he would have a better chance of playing regularly at league one or two level as he still needed work on his fitness. Gus offered to give Leon a good reference and personally contacted Paulo di canio but no one was willing to give leon a chance. At a club like Plymouth he would be a star, at Brighton he showed some real quality and at times really looked the part! The fitness was hardcore though! Leon is very fit compare to the average man and had worked really hard but pre season at championship level is another level, I'm a fit guy but I struggled when I joined in some of the runs!!!

I played against him down Gol recently, didnt even look like he left first gear and was still quality, didnt really seem to be bothered about playing, the one shot i saved i couldnt feel my hand for a bout 30 mins

He really should just pimp himself to Plymouth non-stop but it all depends how much he wants it. With a reference of quality from Gus Poyet, he'd stand a better chance than most.

We spoke to Peter risdale who then spoke to Peter Reid but he wouldn't even have a look at leon. Incredible really as they were rock bottom Of the league at the time. I have no doubt that he would be a real asset at a club like Plymouth, even just as a wildcats to come off the bench to change the game. However, while Leons aim has been to get back to the football league the most important thing for him has been to sort himself out and enjoy his football and at this moment in time he's very happy!
