GYM HELP PLEASE

I am going to join pure gym tomorow , and havnt got a clue where to start! my goals are to buildmy arms up , and loose my belly nd tone that up a little bit,!

i read about different routines etc , but havnt got a clue , any help would be great

im gonna start going there :ayatollah: some nights as its open late more convenient to get too after work

best thing to do is just start with the basics, running, treadmill, bike, rowing machine etc, and focus on the main compound exercises, chest, back, shoulders arms , legs, 10-12 reps x 3 or 4 sets just to wheen into it and go from there

stick to a fairly decent diet smaller meals more frequent if possible, keep count of your calories, more cardio than weights, and graduelly build build up fasting times and longer runs etc

Go and buy Muscle and Fitness magazine or similar.
If they have personal trainers at the gym ask them to put a plan together for you.

Above all, concentrate on lifting correctly before lifting heavy. :old:

Hi,

Have you joined Pure Gym Cardiff and if you have, how are you finding it? I'm currently at the London Oval gym which I love, but I will be joining the Cardiff gym as I will be moving there this year. I see the page for the Cardiff Gym is now up on the site, so I might join there now!

I too needed gym help, as I had never been to a gym before (until Pure Gym) so was quite scared and needed to lose weight! All the PT's in Pure Gym London Oval are so friendly and were very motivating in helping me achieve my goal! With their help, I've lost 2 and half stone! They designed a personal fitness programme for me and I had a few PT sessions a month to start with, which I would highly recommend! I now only have one a month to keep me pushing! I've seen a few fitness leaflets in the gym too, which tell you what exercises to do at the gym and one of them is for legs, bums and tums!

Have you tried the power plates? Worth doing so!

For the belly mate,plenty of cardio,and sittups,as for building your self up,start with low weights,and work your way up during the session,if u are starting,i sugest u stat with chest and bies,ond day nd shoulders and tries the next.
Make sure u warm up by lifting very light weights,say 2sets of twenty just to warm your muscles,and stretch what ever ones your working ,then put a weight on you are comfortable with and do 3sets of 10,to startif u find after 10 u dont feel it then add more,but be carfull not to over load,and once u have done them,put a slightly heavyer weight on and di 3sets of 3 and if u do that u build your strength,but u allways need to push heavyer even if only 1just to build up your strength,but not to much,just a bit more.allso i sugest u use the smiths machine as it aids u if u are alon,
Once u start to get in to it buy a decent protin shake and take ut twice a day,straught after u train

You can dig my garden and I wont charge you a penny.

That'll do better than any poxy gym.

I'll feed you, if you do well ;) ...gyms...ppffffttt :roll:
