Breaking news emerging that Kris Boyd has terminated his contract with Turkish club Eskisehirspor.
Another Scot who failed to settle in Turkey, and a tall lad who's previously been linked with City during Dave Jones' time at the club. He also scored 6 goals in 10 games for Nottingham Forest last season whilst on loan.
Should Malky make an offer?

he's a free I wouldn't be surprised if malky runs it passed the owners.
I've got no issue with scottish players their committment and passion to our club is always second to none. as are irish players,

please no

Update: Boyd has apparently played just 76 minutes of football since moving to Turkey in July, and claims he is yet to be paid by Eskişehirspor.

he will have played alongside both Miller and Earnie previously....interesting

I think it'd be a decent move for Malky. Boyd scored a whopping 101 goals in 143 games for Rangers - mostly alongside Miller.
Mon Dec 19, 2011 2:12 pm
Certainly a better option than Rudy, who looked like a fish out of water Saturday.
Mon Dec 19, 2011 2:43 pm
Rudy did look poor sat but he has also had some very good moments for us.
Kris Boyd, would depend on the wages, im not massively keen on him as a player
Mon Dec 19, 2011 2:43 pm
A tall striker who is Scottish and scores goals, wouldn't be surprised if Malky went for him.
Mon Dec 19, 2011 2:51 pm
lets go for him more experience than Rudy may be ideal
Mon Dec 19, 2011 2:58 pm
Boyd and Miller were shit hot together.
Mon Dec 19, 2011 3:38 pm
Defp the best move, he's playing well for Peterborough and is good friends with Miller. Is there a better option?

Oh fu.ck... Now I know which one

Yeah he's class
Mon Dec 19, 2011 3:47 pm
boyd scored a shed load of goals at rangers but thats not exactly hard. rangers created numerous chances every game in a very poor league. in the big games i.e. europe, he was on the bench. he got found out at boro and was crap at forest. we could do better than boyd, much better. he doesnt fit the type of player weve been going for since MM took over.

I wouldn't say he was "crap" at Forest, considering he scored 6 in 10...
Mon Dec 19, 2011 4:14 pm
Would love him here, brilliant record at Rangers, although Scottish football is crap. proved he can score in the Championship for Boro, and 6 goals in 10 appearances for his loan spell at Forest
Also would work brilliant with Miller as he's played with him at Rangers for years and know eachother off the back of their hand.
Malky get him!!!
Mon Dec 19, 2011 4:14 pm
id definetly have him here, miller and boyd up top thats pretty classy at championship level,i believe hed ask for wages equivalent to what kennys on though,i dont think malky has a huge wage budget to play with by all accounts(hopefully im wrong)
Also regarding rudy gestede he didnt have an impact on saturdays game at all but we must remember hes a young man, inexperienced and has been out for a while through injury, dont give up on him, anyone who plays and still wins plenty of balls in the air with a hamstring injury(leicester,) is the kind of player we need at cardiff

Only 28 aswell

He's a fat lazy b*stard. I wouldn't want him here and I doubt Malky will either. Doesn't fit into the ethos of our hardworking team.

You beat me to it mate

Even Jon Parkin is more mobile than Kris Boyd.
Mon Dec 19, 2011 5:09 pm
Has had off the pitch issues as well whcih means he is a liability
Mon Dec 19, 2011 5:10 pm
Malky prides himself on his players work ethic, on that alone I'd say it was non starter. For all the Goals he scored in Scotland his work rate was poor. When he and KingKenny played Kenny did all the work whilst Boyd was the fox in the box (similar to Thorney and Earnie) Millers goal output did suffer. That being said they did work well together.
Don't see it happening though and I wouldn't at all be supprised if he returned to Glasgow....
Mon Dec 19, 2011 5:51 pm
Based on him as a player (forgetting about his off the pitch attitude, mainly because I have no clue about it) I reckon he wouldn't be that bad of a signing, it would be someone familiar for Kenny and they may be able to strike up a partnership, it all depends on his wages.
Mon Dec 19, 2011 6:11 pm
There would be a lot of positives by the sound of it. Scottish (like most our team

), has played with Kenny, sounds like someone who could do a job for us. His wages may be high but surely if he was on a free then it would even out a little.
As for work rate and attitude, there have been a few negative comments but surely if anybody could sort him out it'd be Malky?
Mon Dec 19, 2011 6:33 pm
He's just a slimmer version of Parkin!!

Good grief.
1) Scottish football is indeed crap. Take a look at Boyd's record against Celtic, their only real opposition. Then compare that to the goals scored against others. Illustrative.
2) Boro, 6 goals in 27 games. Impressive.
3) So impressive that a struggling Boro side loaned him out. To a rival.
4) Forest, 6 goals in 10 games. 4 of those came in a 2 game patch, leaving a whopping 2 in 8 league games. Impressive.
5) Unless the ball is teed up in the box for him, he's absolutely anonymous.
6) Mackay plays the team with a high tempo, high workrate style. See point 5.
7) Incredibly lazy in training, as numerous clubs fans have confirmed.
8) Such a great scorer, on the bench in key games for Rangers in Europe.
9) 7 in 16 international games. Didn't like Burley so pulled a strop and "retired".
Yup, clearly a great signing.

twice in the past he has rejected us, i only want players who want to play for cardiff at this club, no thanks
he hardly set the world alight at forest or boro either...and im guessing he wouldnt be cheap
