It's called adventure and it's a very honurable way to die :old:

i go out hiking in snow pen y fan and fan fawr to name a few. i'd get bored if i only walked when its fine and sunny. my best days out have been on top of pen y fan in snow and blizzards because its exciting.
better than sitting on the settee smoking or down the pub drinking all the time. it could have been that guys interest and hobby.

So should people with smoking or drinking related illnesses pay for their treatment???
what about someone walking out in front of a car thats careless should they pay for not looking??
what if someone crashes if they were careless or it was their fault should they also pay?
the list is a long one mate.

Why the need to say that you miserable tw*t?

Plenty of people go up mountains in the snow, the weather can change so quickly up there anyway, what's to say it wasn't a calm and crisp day when he started?

He was also not going up Snowdonia anyway, which isn't a mountain but a National Park

Wish you'd stop cluttering this forum with things you have no idea about.

Someone died through their own fault and put other lives at risk because of his own selfishness.

Are you serious, how was it his own fault, should we all stay inside when it snows then?
Granted he was up a mountain, but the Garn is not a dangerous mountain at all, he misjudged a ledge due to the snow.
You repulse me sometimes.

Only Midfield General could start a thread mugging off a dead man

there is not ONE thread of evidence that suggests he was inexperienced
that he was foolish, that he was taking risks, that he was a needless drain
on resources.

tragic accident? Benefit of the doubt.

Not on MG's watch!

Your right about Y Garn.

Perhaps you know the mountain, or checked your facts???

The original poster AS PER USUAL didnt do that.

Now thats fine if we're talking about Lionel Messi missing a penalty
or whats your favourite fish, or are them Malaysians really cowboys

But this is a dead man with a grieving family.

just once it would be nice if certain people sat back, realised they didnt
know the facts, and showed a modicum, an iota, a single proton of respect?

maybe?

Well said.

And yeah I know the Garn, I love Snowdonia and have been up there even in the snow with my dad or my uncle who is a keen mountaneer all over the world.
If MG had his way he'd be banning yaughting and surfing next in case of coastguard costs

Totally agree. Mountain rescue guys have to risk their lives to help people or the Search and Rescue guys at Valley putting them in risk. Some crazy people need to take a look at themselves sometimes and know their limits. It's not adventure it's suicide.

Utter bollocks, it was on the Garn, which is not known as a hard mountain and the snow was not that bad.
And talking about mountain rescue it's their job which they love, my uncle even does it on a voluntary basis.
MG is disrespecting a dead man with no evidence, you seem to condone that

So, why is there a mountain rescue service?

Is it just in case a mountain wanders off and gets lost somehwere?

Or is it just in case a mountain falls over and can't get back up?

Perhaps he gets sunburned or really, really wet eh?

You're a real dull cnut you are.

You do know that though, don't you?
