Totall agree.

I was screaming for him to watch his back. He got totally exposed for their second goal.

Fully agree with that point but I just think Taylor just had a bad game yesterday whereas it seems to be a constant problem with Hudson

Our best defender yesterday and consistently good this season last and most of the previous one.

I agree. I've noticed this a lot.

Re: Hudson loses his man far too much for me

I have agree with MG on this. Whilst Hudson does perform well in parts and is a good Captain there is a lack of concentration when he is in the side. On 3 occasions this season we have conceeded 3 goals at home in a league match and Hudson has played in all of those games.

Yet when Gerrard was in the side we went on a run of clean sheets including one against Premiership Blackburn.

Whilst Taylor had a nightmare yesterday you have to ask if Hudson is up to the job when one of his colleagues goes missing?

in Hudson's last 7 appearances we've conceded 2 goals. Gerrard played in 3 others where we looked solid, but he actually had poor games in 2 of these. He's decent cover but seems to lose concentration at times and tries to do too much with the ball.

By the way, I wouldn't read too much into the Blackburn game, Blackburn were the worst side I've seen this season.

I was sat down discussing this with some other ex-centre halfs yesterday and just could not understand why there are still fans who don't rate him. Surely he can't be blamed for poor performances from Taylor and Turner ? He was our best defender yesterday by some way.

Hudson has been very lucky that the pace of Kev has helped cover his arse on many occasions.

He's been lucky an awful lot then hasn't he ?

Maybe Kev has also been lucky that Hudson's posisitoning, (and covering for him when he's run 50 yards and given the ball away) blocks, tackles and headers have saved his ass as well. ;)

Sorry Kev is so good at creating good communication with the person in front of him then a large parcentage of the time whenever he is caught out of position the midfielder in front of him covers him far more than Hudson ever does.

You are having a laugh. Kev never opens his mouth

I don't even know how he manages to eat

That midfielder by the way is Cowie generally who would be also up the pitch joining in the attack.

Those figures are a pretty awful argument if I'm honest. If you could have showed me where Gerrard has played and we had conceeded 3 goals on 3 different occasions then may be you would have a case.

Blackburn were shit but they did send on their big strikers for the final quarter and Gerrard and Turner coped easily with them.

I would prefer to say FACT

He was one of our better players yesterday and we still conceded 3, so wha does that say about turner, taylor and kev yesterday. Hudson is a very good championship centre back.

Ouch that hurt

Kienan is much better than Hudson IMO

I like keinan but hes 5th choice for a reason, and hudson is first choice and club captain for a reason.

Hudson was our best defender last season.

How many times have you seen Keinan play.

I reckon I've seen him about 7-8 times and for 2 fo those he was awful.

Its a big statement to say he's better than a guy who's played about 100 games and had no more than a handful (if any) as bad as Keinan's performances against Reading and Boro.

Plus, I have had the displeasure of seeing MG attempt to play football, and it appears his football judgment is as bad as his ability to play the game.

i agree with this....

gerrard does give the ball away carelessly sometimes , however he def puts his body on the line and dosnt seem to lose his man..

fact is, he has def played and we have kept more clean sheets than when we have hudson in the team..

Thats not a fact.
Check your figures. Clean sheets this season Hudson 8 Gerrard 7
Gerrard DOES lose his man, remember Bristol City when Maynard left him for dead.

He's a decent player, but Hudson is better which is why so many good managers picked him over the years to play in the Championship.

As for Tony. He'd rather look at 3 games when we conceded 3 (even when they were down to others errors like yesterday) than the last 7 Hudson played when we conceded only 2.

Hey what do I know, about centre half positioning an play I only played over 300 games at centre half over the years and another 100 at centre forward against centre halfs.

Just glad Mackay is picking the team rather than you guys.

I am not Hudsons biggest fan but like the rest of the squad he has good days as well as bad days, so does every other defender in british football
