" SO WITH THE FOLLOWING PLAYERS "

Whitts, Ralls and Cowie all likely to miss Watford away on Boxing day, so is our squad strong enough or should we have strengthened before and do we need to strengthen now ?

Whats up with Whitts and Cowie ?

Re: " SO WITH THE FOLLOWING PLAYERS "

I think you are being hard those players, we played a good team yesterday in Boro and lost, it happens in football but in fairness to City this season doesnt happen often, we are still fighting above our weight at the moment try and remember the mess Malky took over. We do need players no doubt but to help the ones we have not to replace them.

There are suggestions Whitts is suspended as thats what the BBC stats and the ones on the official site say, however he says he isn't and is only on 4 bookings as he wasn't booked at Peterborough.

However Cowie is injured.

I think we are still capable of getting 3 points at Watford, even though our squad is limited. Is it time to give Darcy Blake a game or two? I'm still pretty positive about our chances.

Whitts still has one more yellow card to go ! so he will be there boxing day :ayatollah:

Whitts is not suspended and Ralls is not really a regular in the starting 11 so is our squad strong enough? well we're in a top 6 position at the moment and have just lost our 1st game in 12 so up till now the answer would obviously have to be yes the squad is strong enough unless we've been really lucky with results which I don't think is the case. We do need to sign a few players of the right quality in the next transfer window to see us through when people like Whitts do eventually pick up an injury or get suspended but let's not take anything away from the current squad of players and what they've achieved so far, plus the way Malky has managed them all positives in my mind.

And to think I was slagging Whitts off yesterday for getting booked on purpose so he could have Boxing Day off

The cost of those loans and the fact it's for one or two games makes me 100% sure the loans would have been a bad idea.

Down to MM to make his money now and change it around a bit.

We could play a 4-4-2 or a 4-3-3, it doesnt necessarily mean we have to play a 4-5-1, in which the players mentioned would be a big blow.

Don't worry Annis it was showing 5 booking on the CCFC Official site and the BBC

Its a big deal for us, we could have been looking very thin on the ground for Boxing Day.

Sorry to be a wet blanket, but I still think that a top ten finish this season would be OK. Brand new team, remember. We have done fantastically well so far this season, but new teams don't always click. Malky has two more years to deliver. Think of all the big clubs who have gone out of this division, but the wrong way. This season is all about rebuilding, and then, onwards and upwards :ayatollah:

Annis,

You said in the first post in this thread that Whitts was likely to be missing for Watford.

Was that because of the confusion over the 5 bookings or is he injured in some way?

I feel we need to strenghten now, however I trust MM to choose the right players when he was at Watford he managed to loan the following players who by all accounts really helped Watford at the time Tom Cleverley, Henri Lansbury, Jordon Mutch and Andrew Taylor. Also I trust MM to bring on academy players :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Loan players will push out academy players though, if we have 3/4 loan players I cant see Mason and Ralls making the bench which will be a shame.

Yes I would agree with that, but surely they are the long term future, I believe we will struggle if we have injuries and if we get lonees in and MM manages to gel them into the current set up the whole team will benefit

Dunno, harsh as they havent put a foot wrong. Also the same with loan players replacing perm signings, will put peoples noses out of place. Id much rather perm signings

only malky knows what money is available,im sure malky got some players lined up,well i hope so.
I'd prefer players to come on a permanent basis, more time to gel if we dont make it this season, this season is about rebuilding for me :ayatollah:
